Fantastic experience: Lovely vet practice. Everyone there is very warm & welcoming & my dog always gets excellent treatment. I would definitely recommend this vet practice

Fantastic experience: Our first visit after recently adopting our foster dog - super friendly reception team on the phone beforehand and in person on the day, super care from Cara removing post-op stitches, we're very happy our girl is now registered here. As a new dog owner still learning new responsibilities, I was pleased to be asked when her next vaccinations were due

Negative experience: "We specialise in treating horses" - on Website. Was told by reception today (after being ignored on several occasions) that they don't treat horses and made false statements that it's far too 'unsafe' - 'Dangerous' to euthanise my elderly quiet as a lamb horse. The obviously haven't a clue if they think euthanising a horse in a stable is safer or easier for removal!!! Wouldn't go near these guys as no concern for animal welfare or much knowledge & don't match what they say on their website.

Fantastic experience: My dogs and I have been going to Wicklow Veterinary Clinic for over three years now and we always have a positive and caring experience. My old Lab is in every month for an injection and Cara, Simon, Aled or Fleur are always interested and take their time. Reception ladies are lovely and friendly too. A great veterinary practice, started by Denis who looked after my horse decades ago. Experience and kindness comes through all the vets there. Many thanks

Fantastic experience: Wicklow Veterinary clinic is without a doubt a great example of what a practice should be from communications, visiting experience from reception to the most competent and self assured vets who apply both experience and knowledge to the care of our dog which gives nothing but confidence in the service provided. Their after-care is fantastic and scheduling reminders for both medicines and appointments are very useful to anyone who has a hectic schedule. We would never consider going to any other clinic. Fantastic experience: I recently brought my dog to Wicklow Vets for surgery and wanted to share how positive the experience was. Aled carried out the removal of a very large 3.8kg lipoma, which we had previously been told was not in a suitable location for surgery. Naturally, we were quite worried, but Aled took the time to carefully assess everything and explain the options in a clear and reassuring way. The surgery went smoothly, and the level of skill and care shown was exceptional. The aftercare and ongoing support from Aled have also been excellent, with clear guidance and genuine concern for our dog’s recovery. We’re incredibly grateful to Aled for taking on such a challenging case and achieving such a great outcome. I would highly recommend Aled.

Negative experience: I had been taking my dogs to Wicklow Vets for over 5 years since I brought them home but we just decided to find a different vet for them. The quality of care has been going downhill for a while, and it doesn’t help the front desk staff are incredibly rude and dismissive. All they care about is upselling you and taking as much money from patients as possible, no care for the animal’s wellbeing, they won’t honour the animal’s medical history, and won’t take the owner’s concerns seriously. There was 1 good doctor around but since he’s gone now it’s just not worth putting up with the horrendous treatment and frankly extortionate behavior from these people. STAY AWAY FROM THEM! they charged us €240 for yearly check up and vaccines and the vet wasn’t even bothered examining the dogs properly, and now that one of my dogs needs medication for a known issue wr told the vet about an that he has had in the past, they want us to go back in for “exams” before they help him, even though my dog was just in and this is a recurring issue we’ve discussed multiple times. They just want to keep charging us and in the meantime my dog has been uncomfortable for weeks. TERRIBLE PEOPLE.

Negative experience: I brought my cat there after seeing him having some issues. They treated him 2 weeks for the wrong symptoms, did several tests on him and he still wasn't improving. At the end the doctor there said she will refer him to UCD cause he has no lack of appetite (I explained that that was not the problem, but the effect of the problem). She said that the cat could be constipated and she wanted to make an X-ray to confirm, cause she wasn't sure. That would have put so much more stress on my cat's life...I took him to another clinic and the doctor there told me in 3 hours what he had. Unfortunately, even though he was transferred to UCD Emergency, he passed away before starting treatment for his condition. I cannot help but think that those 2 weeks that the doctor wasted could have saved my cat's life. I made a complaint to the clinic about the issues and 2 weeks later no message or call from them. I spent more that 500 EURO with them but they did not care. Very very disappointed. I would avoid at all costs.

Positive experience: My cat Zack was brought to Wicklow Veterinary Clinic after a severe episode of breathing difficulties. By the time we arrived, his condition had improved, which understandably made diagnosis challenging. However, within a few days, he took a sharp turn for the worse. We rushed him to another veterinary clinic, where they quickly identified fluid around his heart. They attempted to remove the fluid, but sadly, he passed away the following day. I can't help but feel that more extensive testing at Wicklow Veterinary might have led to an earlier diagnosis and potentially a different outcome. The second veterinary team was able to determine the likely cause of the fluid buildup based on our description of his symptoms, and then confirmed it with a scan. This leads me to question whether the veterinarian who saw my cat at Wicklow Veterinary had sufficient experience. He seemed very young, and I'm left wondering if that played a role in the missed diagnosis. While I understand that veterinary medicine can be complex, I'm deeply saddened by the loss of my cat. We miss him so much.

Fantastic experience: We moved to Ashford 3 years ago and signed the animals up straight away. This is a fantastic clinic. My cat is a bit difficult and they handle her very well and she doesn't come out stressed at all. Our dog lola a pug the same never comes out stressed. Staff are very friendly and informative.

Negative experience: I've been vaccinating our dog here and always came back for passport and other medical issues with Jack our Shi tzu. Just now I've taken him to remove a small part of a tick on top of his eye, that my girlfriend tried to remove late last night.Didnt have time to book unfortunately because of the late hour. Standing in front of their door i was greeted with a very unfriendly attitude by a lady, saying when approaching her "i don't think so" in a very rude way! Another one of their clients came at me saying that she felt bad for me. Last time in here, would've recommend it it before, but now I don't think so!
