Fantastic experience: I have been with City Vets for many years. I would recommend this practice, I find them very professional and compassionate. The staff are excellent and very knowledgeable.

Negative experience: This place wouldn't even deserve a star at all! I switched all my pets to a different place. The communication between the staff is a disaster there, follow-up visits with a different vet all the time, got expired medication one day, lost my pets bloods a couple times, stool sample wasn't stored in the fridge had to redo it all over again, massively overpriced in literally everything they charge you. One day we went there because of an issue and then got back with a complete different diagnose. Some things they explained were really questionable. Cannot recommend this place at all. Run just run!!!

Negative experience: Went to city vet 3 times over the course of about a week regarding the same issue with my dog. First time we were told the dog was fine and charged 130, second time we were told the dog would die, we were charged 180 and booked in for a 400 biopsy. Third time we were told dog couldn’t have the biopsy because she was feeling unwell and were charged 130. While I was waiting for the dog to be checked in for the biopsy the staff attempted to upsell me on blood tests etc even though she had blood tests at her previous visit AND I had just been told she is dying. Predatory avaricious behaviour isn’t illegal but god damn it should be.

Fantastic experience: City Vets were so accommodating, Saturday emergency appointment for a lame cat, all diagnostic tests run on a Saturday and incredibly kind during such a stressful time

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience. Called for an emergency appointment and was seen within an hour. Receptionist was so lovely over the phone and in person and the vet was very thorough and I felt my dog was in great hands. Highly recommend

Negative experience: Absolutely appalling follow up. I have just moved all my animals from their care. They do not communicate properly to the owner of the patient or to each other. Every time I rang they didn't know who the person was before me that I spoke to. I even followed up with emails and pictures. Now this pet had been in the week before and I had to have major surgery and kept in touch with them. Sent the pics and updates. Oh they promised me that the vet would get back to me by phone and medication sorted as he was not to stop them suddenly. I explained ( now I am with them a long time and have rescued animals) he needed to continue his antibiotics also. And of course appearently an email was sent. No phonecall with the vet during the appointed time. No call back. All you seem to get for the past year or so is money money. Finally I have decided to make the move away from City Vets as I have 7 pets and I have lost all trust in them.

Negative experience: David Thompson allowed our dog to suffer in her final hours.

Fantastic experience: From Joanne on reception to the fantastic vets Emma and Shauna that mainly deal with my 2 Tibetan terriers, I can’t recommend them highly enough enough. All so knowledgeable and caring with my dogs.

Negative experience: The two girls laughed and giggled as I waited for thirty min while my little dog was dieing in my arms, no empathy no concern, just talked about what sandwiche they liked. They wanted to be paid up front before they put my little fur baby to sleep, paying was not a problem, I felt it was more about money than the suffering of my much loved dog. I won't ever go back.

Negative experience: Was there a few times for some small things with my dog and they always fob you off. I brought my dog them to get neutered and they butchered him. They sent him home still bleeding and his whole under side was so bruised it looked like he was covered in black ink. I rang them and emailed them photos to see if this was normal and all they said was yea he’s a big dog, so that’s why he’s bleeding and bruised?? Never went back near them and brought my second dog to Suirside vet to get neutered and the complete opposite, clean area, no bruising and no blood and majorly cheaper.

Negative experience: Keep away from city vets ,charge me €460 when I was told it would cost €160 they make up there prices as they go along keep awayyyy

Negative experience: Called this crowd as it was an emergency as my dog was not breathing properly and only to be told you have to be registered with us and she wouldn't be able to help which is an absolute disgrace..not a nice woman to speak with very ignorant and in my opinion and clearly not a caring person just cut me off and was not willing to help.a nasty piece of work so most certainly will not be calling then again in a case of emergency..thank god my poor dog was alright in the end after a long night without the help from this so called veterinarian who did not want to help my dog

Fantastic experience: We've been clients at this clinic for over 7 years, and they've earned our full trust. The vets are knowledgeable, professional, and truly care about the animals they treat. Every visit—whether routine or more urgent—has been handled with expertise and compassion. It's rare to find a place that combines skill with heart, but this clinic does it effortlessly. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Every member of staff from reception to veterinarian went above and beyond taking care of my boy and keeping me informed of everything throughout jakes procedure, i can’t thank them enough for there care and effort, Jake is on the mend and returning to his happy fun self bringing me the relief joy and comfort he has always brought not just to me but everyone he meets ..

Positive experience: Brought my dog to the vet after she was been sick for a few days brought her in yesterday first thing as I was worried they found nothing and only gave her an injection and 2 tablets even though they were told that she was refusing food and water they sent us home saying the vommiting would stop never did tho brought her back straight away today in a panic as I never seen. My dog so poorly before and they said they would take another look came back she had fluid built all around her lungs and died in the vets only 4 hours later what I don’t understand is that I only brought my dog here yesterday and they didn’t underline any serious issue witch they should have when there was a serious issue I’ll never understand how it went from being sent home to death in less then 24 hours just doesn’t make scence they were kind staff tho not rude

Positive experience: My daughter had to sadly put her sixteen year old cat to sleep.but such a caring vet called Ann-Marie we met,she did not rush us at any time.also other girls working there were so kind .would certainly recommend city vets.

Fantastic experience: The vet we saw on Friday was amazing(I forget her name) but a young extremely kind and helpful vet. She was very patient and understanding and listened intensely to my concerns about my furbabies problem. You could tell she loves her job immensely and definitely cares about her patients and their parents. Very professional and friendly and would highly recommend to anyone.

Fantastic experience: CityVets took Bobo on short notice within 2 hours as he was severely ill (Hiding under the deck, completely unresponsive to our actions). Everyone went above and beyond to accommodate Bobo, and kept him for 2 nights to get him back up to health. He was dehydrated, confused, lethargic - I don’t think he would’ve made it through the night and I think CityVets truly saved him by accommodating this short notice appointment. I want to thank the staff from the bottom of my heart. Bobo is now back at home.

Fantastic experience: While traveling to Ireland, my dogs were unwell last week, and I got a last minute appointment: not only was everyone super nice, but the dogs were treated perfectly and were immediately better. I can highly recommend them.

Positive experience: Love the vets, always so welcoming and great service. At the desk can sometimes come across cold but they are just very busy and trying to organise everything as it's quite a busy place so don't worry! I've always had a great time going in and so helpful. Recently got my dog neutered and they were absolutely fantastic and very efficient!

Negative experience: Was a customer of city vets . Never knew how much it would cost as they never had a price list . My dog got an injection monthly for a skin irritation and one month price had just increased and I was told while paying and querying this ? everything is going up . This is true but at least let customers know in advance so they can shop around ., Also My dog got hit by a car went straight in . Was sent home with painkillers. Told nothing broken . Turned out she had severe internal damage which required surgery from a specialist . 3 months later costing 3000 euros . Not even a follow up call to see how it went . Unfortunately all about the money . Now get skin prescription for half the price . Don’t rush to find a vet do your research .

Fantastic experience: I have always used City Vets but I find them getting more expensive every year. Recently, I took one of my two sister cats for her check up after treatment for an injury and was absolutely delighted and relieved when I was charged only €15. My faith is restored again.

Negative experience: Made an appointment for lulu my hamster last Thursday for yesterday they never called me to confirm like they said they would very bad

Positive experience: Had occasion to use city vets recently. I cannot say enough about how good they were and how they treated our cat Keo. Sadly we lost him but the empathy and treatment he received was top class

I feel they always put the animals first, will always take their time to put the animals (& Dad too!) at ease, always a big smile & big welcome when you come in which really helps if you are going in for a potentially tough appointment. Negative experience: After 16 years bringing my cats to city vets, and after the last 2 visits (my cats are super seniors over 15 y/o), I have decided to change my vet.Both cats were seen by a vet who was probably diligent, but didn't have an ounce of care for the cats. No interaction, no talking to them, no empathy for them. Both times she tried to push a follow up appointment on me and tried to fix a date. I also was quoted 6 times the price for a tooth extraction than in another lovely veterinary practice. The prices have sky rocketed since they were taken over by an English consortium (certainly the money was not put into renovations, the place looks he same for the last 16 years).The 2 stars are for the loving care by David, William and Cora over the years. I can't thank you enough but the new vet is not for me.

Negative experience: Wasn't given a price range at any point . Vet very abrupt, didn't not make my dog feel as ease ,he never minded going before . Disappointed, may need to find another vet .

Fantastic experience: Brilliant staff, very caring, very helpful. No nonsense and no unnecessary procedures or expenses and they go the extra mile for your much loved pet. Rosine even started a wildlife rescue and she is full of information. Can't say enough good about the whole practice, thanks guys xxx

Fantastic experience: Very kind girls on reception , myself and my cat Spooky are always greeted well and they go out of their way to get your pet an appointment as soon as possible. Receptionist, nurses and vets very knowledgeable and understanding and I always feel Spooky has left the practice with the best care possibly available. I would reccommend city vets to all in giving your pet the best possible care and a happy healthy life :)

Fantastic experience: The staff at City Vets are truely amazing. I moved to them after a comment from a previous vet who said he would sedate my dog (rottie) before examining him again. Took him to City Vets and the vet sat on the floor and let my fella come to him. Five years later it was that same vet who came to pts our baby and again he sat with him, took his time and gave him such a dignified end. My other dog used to shake out at the previous place, here it's not a bother, especially with the two lovely ladies on reception yesterday who gave loads of attention and a treat. They go above and beyond and I would, and always do highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: Thorough and efficient clinic. They have extensive diagnostic options and vets that spend time and effort on all cases, especially the more complex of them. The nurses are friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and hard working. (And should get raises!) They are now a Silver level cat friendly clinic as accredited by ISFM, so cats can have the standard of care they deserve.
