Negative experience: Really disappointed how the vet handled my pet rabbit, I said not to grab him because he only trusts me, she just grabbed him and he died because of a heart attack. She didn't listen to me and I never said goodbye to my poor rabbit Snuffy. Would have appreciated it if she had taken my request into consideration today but now it's too late.

Negative experience: We have been buying flee/tick 3 month tablets and worming tablets here at a cost over €100. I recently went to another practice where one of my dogs was originally registered and they charge €60 for the exact same tablets. Terrible that a practice can charge so much more. We wont be retuning because of this.

Negative experience: DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE My mom brought our dog in during the week to help with her arthritis, during the appointment the doctor discovered she had a heart condition , same doctor proceeded to then give the my dog an injection saying it had “ no side effects at all” 3 days later she passed away….. Why did the doctor not think to check side effects of the drug she decided to inject into our pet? Especially not even thinking it may interfere with the heart? All drugs have side effects - the doctors should be educated. There were other options but she went with the one that could potentially kill the dog WHICH it did….. Absolutely Shameful.

Positive experience: Had reason to visit this practice with a sick dog recently and was looked after very well by the staff. Although I would pay anything for a sick animal I do find that prices here are very steep compared to my last visit. There are now many other vets in Waterford so dont be afraid to try around for better value.

Fantastic experience: This was the best vets in the city unfortunately tadh has retired and sold the business its now run to make money and the care is not there for the animals sad to see so any previous feedbacks I've left does no longer apply I brought in a rescue dog and it was excessive pricing to say the least so shop around this business is not what it once was unfortunately

Negative experience: Beware of alot of the 5 star reviews here as they were posted when Tadgh was running the place and it was a great vets then. Since then he has retired and it has bought out by a company who cares nothing for the animals and only want to try and make money. Charging 5 times the price of any other vet and taking advantage of people with sick pets. I would implore anyone to shop around at different vets instead of going here as there are far, far better vets out there that wont try and milk every last cent out of you.

Fantastic experience: Thought my cat had ear mites, the vet checked his ears thoroughly and was so gentle with him and confirmed it was a yeast infection. Extremely informative, he got 2 injections and has ear medicine that's going really well! Bruce Wayne is happy and his ears are on the way to recovery, couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Negative experience: Very expensive and unprofessional... He wanted to charge me 550euro for cat eye removal and other vet clinic charged me only 150 euro for the same thing. Also,clinic is dirty and full of animals hairs

Fantastic experience: This clinic was superb, very welcoming place with gentle staff and good energy. My sister went there worried about her cat, she was listened and felt better; my cat was treated super well like their own — and he was very calm here, what was a surprise since he was said to be a little demon in other vets he went when younger (he usually gets really angry); price was also very accessible, what I loved. Definitely recommend.

Negative experience: I went here twice in the past 3 years to help and assist my mum with her pet just after Covid. I got told by an arrogant receptionist to leave and wait outside as only one person per pet could be inside. The second time I went there Covid restrictions were gone and lifted and no other customers were there while I was there and I even had a mask on me and I was still told to leave and wait outside by that same arrogant receptionist. She must have loved using Covid excuses after Covid was lifted so she didn't want to allow more than one person that was together with someone else assisting them with their pet. Last time I was there they had files in several boxes piled up on the chairs inside so people could not sit down. Very bad professionalism and attitude.

Fantastic experience: Jess took my karlie in at a moment’s notice ,it was a very scary time watching my dog suffer after injesting something,the looked after her so well and now she’s back home and back to her old self,I can’t thank them enough

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend the pet hospital, I recently brought in my Newfoundland Kerri who was in a great deal of pain and the staff fitted me in for an emergency appointment that day to see the vet and X-rays with no delay. Thanks to the great team of William and Jess, Kerri was feeling back to herself in no time with some medications. I wouldn’t go to any other vets, treated Kerri like she was their own!

Fantastic experience: My dog recently got knocked down and she had to be brought in after hours, she was looked after by Pippa and Jess, we brought her straight in and she was cared for instantly. The service here is second to none they treated my dog as if it was there own, unfortunately her injuries were too bad and we had to put her to sleep but we were treated with nothing but compassion and understanding. I would highly recommend the pet hospital. Thank you so much for your kindness.

Fantastic experience: 10/10, The staff are nothing short of amazing, the care and attention they gave my baba is just incredible form staying up all night with him making sure he was OK to the way they treated him during the after care. Jess is an incredible human and vet she's an absolute star so lovely and kind.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to The Pet Hospital for years and I couldn't recommend it more. All the staff in there are amazing and very friendly. I had to put one of my pets to sleep recently and Jess the vet was so compassionate and supportive. From the second I walked in I felt welcome, at ease and knew I was in the right hands for what was a sad day.

Fantastic experience: I'm not from the area but I couldn't get a last minute appointment with my usual vets. Mr serious face here wasn't himself and when I rang a few places looking to bring him in they didn't have availability, one from hearing my description of the symptoms over the phone offered euthanasia!! Thankfully the team here could see us. Jess the vet was great with him and thankfully after a day or two he perked right up to his old self.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this place to anyone, very bad experience here since it was taken over by new owners, had a nervous dog in with the vet and they made no attempt to work with the dog just made the experience very bad for the dog and us as owners, they also made us feel like bad owners towards our dog which is absolutely not that case at all, have moved elsewhere and the new vet actually wants to build a relationship with our dog and not make it stressful for our dog, we also contacted them for a emergency one night and they showed no interest and wouldn’t see the dog, defiantly avoid they really don’t care and are very unhelpful!

Negative experience: Absolutely awful place. Used to be good, but since new company took over it's been horrendous. My friend (a vet!!) had her two very sick, elderly dogs put to sleep here last week and was treated appallingly. Vet refused to sedate dogs prior to final injection, even though dogs were nervous and owner had requested this before appointment. Owner also asked for dogs to be cremated separately but we're group cremated so she received no ashes. Asked for nose prints in ink and vet 'forgot' and when owner queried this the clinic manager told her the dogs were in awful condition and that she should have been happy with what service she did get, before asking "what more do you want?". This is just the tip of the iceberg for the visit. Owner absolutely traumatised, dogs had an awful time at the end of their life, and the clinic doesn't care one bit. The malpractice that took place was criminal.

Negative experience: Over 10 years we had been attending this clinic and Tadg and his staff were absolutely brilliant. But the business was sold to a vet group after Tadg retired and things have taken a nosedive. We see a new vet every time we attend, they seem inexperienced and never know anything about our pets. Prices have shot up. There is no consistency in care. We went from having a plan for our dog and his specific pain management in his very senior years, to guessing whether or not the new drugs we've been offered are right for him because it feels like a crap shoot in there these days. To say I'm not confident is an understatement. I'm so sad that the incredible clinic that Tadg established with his team has come to this. We are moving our business elsewhere as one of our dogs is now very senior and deserving of consistent healthcare.

Negative experience: Won’t be back. Wasn’t aware Tadgh had retired, prices have been raised and care isn’t the same.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service , great team and great value for money

Negative experience: We’ve used this business for 20 years with 5 different pets and are bitterly disappointed since it has been taken over by this new company. Unfortunately Tadhg and his team earned this place 5 stars, prices are terribly high for simple procedures, service is cold and poor. Sad to say our time attending this centre has come to an end.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant pet hospital staff very friendly

Negative experience: Gone downhill since new company took over. Prices have gone up a lot for the same procedure in the space of 12 months. Was handed flea ointment in a brown envelope to apply myself. They seem to be more focused on profits and not on the animal care.

Negative experience: If you want your pet to be healthy after a vet visit I wouldn’t go to this vet. However, I brought my cat here a couple of times and the male vet took care of him when he had a urinary tract infection. The second time I brought him here he had a deep cut on one of his legs. There was a female vet this time and she looked at his leg but did not dress it or disinfectant it at all. She gave me instructions to rub oil on it and to dress his wound myself if needed. She gave no cone to keep him from picking at it or gave any suggestions to use one. Low and behold I needed to dress his wound and I didn’t know what I was doing as I am not a vet. I dressed his wound myself but he kept picking at it and his wound got way worse. I brought him back to the vet again and that lady vet said this time she was going to give him an X-ray or scan to see if there was any serious complications. I picked him up a couple of hours later and he was put asleep in his cat carrier and covered in blood with two shaved legs even though the cut was only on one leg. The lady vet said he had nothing serious and the infection wasn’t “that bad”. I obviously trusted her and brought him home and kept dressing his wound and kept cleaning it with the oil she prescribed but the wound didn’t heal and kept getting worse. I decided I needed a second opinion from an another vet at a different surgery. This new vet did scans and X-rays and then told me the terrible news that the infection was so bad it spread to his bone and it needed to be removed or be on medication for the rest of his life and be in pain forever. I chose the latter, to remove his leg as this was recommended by the new vet for his quality of life. Long story short my cat lost his leg and this was definitely due to bad and careless practice done by this vet, wrong diagnosis and misinformation of my cat’s care. Like I said the male vet here was brilliant but whoever this female vet is not doing her job properly and my cat lost his leg due to this. Please prioritise your pets health and do not listen to every vet out there if you feel it isn’t right. Get a second opinion. My poor cat isn’t the same happy cat he once was.

Positive experience: This used to be a fantastic pet hospital, but unfortunately not anymore, My appointment with a VET was for 11am on Thursday but at 11.35 I was informed that the nurse who is also receptionist was going to inject my pet ,I said no and then another nurse/receptionist informed me she does the same work as the vet ,I was attending this practice for over 20 years with my pets but never again

Fantastic experience: This is a small local practice who are very friendly and professional. Consultations are by appointment so you don't have to wait in a crowded area with your pet being stressed by lots of other animals. They handle their animal patients with kindness and they are very sensitive when dealing with end of life pet care. I would recommend The Pet Hospital without hesitation.

Negative experience: Very bad vets. I rang about a dog needing emergency care . I was told because I don't use this vets normally they cannot help me . They told me to contact the vet I normally use . I explained I use that vets for my cats that they have never had to see my dog, that they were the last vet my dog attended 5 years ago she would be on their system. They told me the system was updated she would no longer be on it. I explained my normal vets had passed there out of hours calls to a vet more than 30km away and I didn't drive so could not get her there could they please help her it was urgent and there response was to get a taxi with my dog to the other vets 30km away . Absolutely disgraceful behavior from a place who is supposed to care for the needs of animals.

Positive experience: I recently moved to the area and am so happy I found this vet. All the staff have been wonderful. My senior dog has some on going health issues and had a bit of an emergency and they have been accommodating and helpful. The only bummer was when she had to stay for part of the day she came back smelling terrible.
