Fantastic experience: It's not our regular Veterinarian but we have recently adopted a kitten from Drogheda Animal Rescue and we were seen by a vet right in the Westgate Clinic. Lovely place, fantastic staff and a great aftercare. Can't recommend this clinic hard enough! ♥️

Positive experience: Good veterinary practice, they are always willing to squeeze you in if appointments are tight and I personally would recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I want to sincerely thank Dr. Jasone and Westgate Veterinary for their incredible compassion and care for my 10-week-old kitten who was fighting panleukopenia. Dr. Jasone went above and beyond, she even took him home to care for him outside of her working hours. That showed me this clinic is not about profit, but about genuine love for animals and true empathy for their owners. Although my kitten sadly didn’t make it, I’ll always be grateful for the kindness, honesty, and dedication Dr. Jasone showed. I trust this clinic completely and highly recommend them to anyone who wants their pet to be treated with real care and heart. ❤️

Recent engagement has confirmed my faith in the practice. Super supportive couldn't do enough for my poorly pet.

Fantastic experience: Cannot thank them enough, we lost our Cody last June, he went from up and walking to not being able to stand, the vets came out late at night so that he didn’t have to suffer thru the night. I have had dogs with them since 2004 and never had an issue. Your babies are safe with Westgate.

The Veternarians and nurses were so super professional at a very difficult time for us. They were so helpful, pleasant and respectful. Couldn't recommend them enough.

Fantastic experience: Literally the nicest, kindest and most compassionate vet clinics I've ever atteneded in my life. If you are looking for a sign this is it! Louth is lucky to have such proffesional and experienced Vets & the front of house team is world class. Also a note to all cat & dog owners to please be proactive and use flea meds and vaccinate your pets. Prevention is better then the cure and cheaper in the long run! A million thank yous West Gate! You guys are the best! Forever grateful ❤️

Fantastic experience: Super nice staff from reception all the way through to the vets and nurses. My dog needed a stitch up today after a groom gone wrong. She was in and out in an hour, the care was excellent and the price very reasonable. Highly recommend these vets.

Negative experience: Today I had a phone call from my very upset wife who visited today, we have a sick cat, it’s not our first time as been here for years, on getting talking to the vet a very rude and unprofessional, with absolutely no empathy, receptionist kept butting in, her comment was to put the cat in the bin, turned to her colleague saying i love seeing the expression on people's faces when I say that. a person to say such a thing should not be working around animals...an apology is not enough in this case

Negative experience: I'm very disappointed, I brought the cat home, and he was very hungry and very thirsty. but I went with the idea to be hydrated. and for this I had to pay 430 euros. Total irresponsibility

Fantastic experience: The vets in Westgate Drogheda are excellent, especially Jasone who has looked after our Bailey for many years. She has shown Bailey and me such kindness. All the staff are professional, helpful and clearly loves animals.

Negative experience: Beware. Too many vets chopping and changing. My cat was left with a stitch in after his stitch removal from his surgery (surgery was 2 months ago- stitch is embedded in him). They also failed to diagnosis him with lymphoma and nerve damage. Went to another practice in Dublin and they diagnosed him straight away without hundreds of euros in tests thrown at them - my cat of 12 years now has to be put down because he cannot walk. (Vet saying I needed to spend another 500 euros to get more tests after telling me benign/inconclusive) Had this been diagnosed earlier, he may of had a chance at some more time. I am furious after spending thousands here for no results. Constantly thrown painkillers. Asking to see the vet who did his biopsy and she was gone a few weeks later so I couldn't! Went to a partner practice in Laytown for painkillers because he couldn't walk. Receptionist told me a vet would call when she heard he couldn't walk. Vet never called. Was given only 5ml of painkiller instead of 15ml and he was in constant pain! My cat has had two separate biopsies on lumps and bloods done. I'm sickened. I've never complained about this practice, I advocated for it when others talked down. Now I regret that. I felt the receptionists were lovely. But now I'm left without my cat who I've had since I was a child.

Fantastic experience: Staff are great and really care about the animals receptionist is nice and friendly.my dog Max was in for dental work recently and is nervous when away from us but staff gave him extra attention to make him feel better

Negative experience: If you want to talk with a stone wall (a rude stone wall, no "hi" and "bye" even) - go there. Even in a potentially urgent situation they won't try to help in any way. Maybe I was just unlucky?..

Fantastic experience: Couldn't have asked for a better team to look after our very sick puppy. The care and attention they gave Kiki was incredible, they never gave up and thankfully she's back on her paws and beginning to recover.

Negative experience: My cat had a stroke and lost any movement in his legs, I begged for an emergency app but was refused as we frequented westgate who had no emergency services. Westgate said call allpets and allpets said they won't take westgate patients. I drove an hour to summerhill as my cats lungs filled with fluid. He suffered every minute as his stroke worsened, ten min to drogheda vs an hour to summerhill as he's dying. Apparently allpets and westgate are owned by same people. Both left my boy to die so not surprised

But he sadly passed, they were absolutely amazing with arranging everything from ashes jewelery etc being made and I even got a phone call to ask how I was feeling. They are the best vet around and I can't recommend them enough

Fantastic experience: We are really happy that we chose this clinic when we adopted Prince , everyone knows and interacts with him when he has appointment he doesn't like going in to any building that is not his home but he build confidence to visit every two weeks when we collecting his food and now even when we going for check up he is not scared like he use to be and this is crucial because when we got him he wouldn't go near any human and now everyone is his friend , last year he had his tooth removed and we were instructed exactly what to do after and it was just before Christmas they were fully booked but they found time for him they checked everything before the procedure so he can get the best treatment , everyone might have a different experience but we are very happy and the most important Prince is calm now when he's going for his check up . Thank you for looking after Prince

Fantastic experience: According to my husband, they were professional and ethical. A feral cat in our apartment block had his back broken and dragged himself to us for help. We made him as comfy as he'd let us, and took him up to Westgate the next morning. Westgate took the humane, ethical decision to end its life. A sad ending of a warrior. We've seen him around. Seek the old battlescars on him.. RIP, Scarface..

Negative experience: I tried to get a last minute appointment for my sick cat. Their website said that they were open a half hour later than they closed. I had to contact a vets out of town. My cat got medication for cat flu. This vets closes on the weekends, so I contacted Westgate today (Saturday) because my female cat who has kittens was also showing signs. I asked about medications that I have here, & was simply looking for advice on whether they were safe for a nursing cat. They didn't even ask what medication it was, I was told that because I went to another vets, they wouldn't assist me! I contacted all pets then, who went above & beyond to help me! Overpriced, money hungry, non caring!!!

Fantastic experience: Cant fault the service here. Ive had bad experiences at vets before so i was apprehensive but all staff were so friendly. The vet my cat saw was absolutely amazing. Definitely my vet clinic of choice from now on. They've went out of their way to facilitate emergency appointments for me and I always leave the place feeling much better knowing my animals are being well looked after

Negative experience: RECEPTIONIST VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL WILL NOT BE COMING BACK. Had been twice with these vets. Problems I had with very rude and unprofessional receptionist. For my first visit with cat we had booked app at 11 o’clock, when we arrived went to front door and was signs hanging to wait to be called for your app so we kept waiting receptionist would come out took all clients randomly after waiting more then half hour and went to ask is there delays with app got her rudely to answer me that it’s my fault for not informing them even tho they past me several times and when we booked we told it’s our first visit had really bad experience. Today morning i rang about my dog I believe same lady answered phone i was looking to get emergency app cause massive lump showed up on a side off my dogs belly so receptionist wouldn’t listen start saying I’m not a vet can’t give you consultations over phone which i said I’m not looking I’m just looking to get emergency app and told you a reason why i think so i need emergency one, would listen at all and said no appointments available for a while. I’m just wondering so lets say your dog or any other pet has so emergency conditions and receptionist doesn’t even listen or ask nurse or vet is it life threatening situation like let your pet to day. Don’t know what’s receptionist problem and reason fur such rude customer service but if she hates her job shouldn’t be dealing with clients which are seeking help for there pets

Negative experience: The kitten has been having issues over 2 weeks and has been to this clinic 2 times and nothing has resolved much money spent and keep telling to bring her back in...Once made a comolaint about were told by the man vet : If you cant afford and take a care of her shouldnt have it.Very unproffesional and disrespectful.Wont be using this clinic again as it is rip off, they wont care about your pet unless they cant make money off you..

Negative experience: Kitten had problems, got given tablets which she would vomit back up, brought her in to get injection and got told by the vet that " SHOULD NOT HAVE A CAT IF CAN'T TAKE CARE OF IT" ! This vet should not be working here if he can't provide normal customer service especially to people already stressed out! The worst service ever given! Will never step a foot in this vet practice ever again and will be making sure people know about this!

Fantastic experience: Could not recommend enough. I came home from work to a sick puppy and my own vet who I have been going to for over 15 years and whom I’ve spent thousands with over the years would not see me without paying an out of hour's fee even though they were not closed for another 20 minutes and I only live 5 minutes away. I rang west gate and they told me to come straight down even though they were about to close up. They couldn’t have been more helpful both Simon the vet and the receptionist (I didn’t catch her name). Thankfully Simon reassured me it was just a stomach bug and explained all the meds and special food I needed for the next few days. I will be useing west gate in future for my dogs and would not return to my old vets practice. Not only were they so nice and accommodating to a customer who has never been with them before, they were also half the price I would have ended up paying at my normal vets. Thank you again for all your help
