Fantastic experience: Less than two months ago we had to make the very difficult decision to let our family pet ‘Mia’ go at the great age of 16 years. The vet, Jesse and supporting veterinary staff were wonderful and gave us the warm support we needed at that tough time. So, many thanks to Jesse and all the Moss Vet team. Particular thanks to Peter who was so welcoming to Mia and I, on our first visit (many years ago) and also to Edward who operated on Mia. This gave her a new lease of life lasting many years. Fantastic experience: As good as they get.

Negative experience: Not the best. I asked for treatment, and they promised they would do it. But when I went to collect my dog, they said it's okay and didn't extract the tooth and said that I should come every year for x-ray to check the broken molar tooth and if it gets infected they will extract it. Who would put a dog through so much stress and sedation repeatedly? She's not young anymore to go through this again and again. I really trusted Peter, but not anymore.

They really go above and beyond!

Fantastic experience: Just wanted to say that the staff here went above and beyond for our Hurley today. As young pet owners we had today very stressful. Hurley had to get an emergency endoscopy today and he was looked after brilliantly, the clinic took us in right away. Staff here work only with care and huge love for animals and it’s the best place you can bring your furry friends in. Huge thanks to Mr. Kurt for his professionalism and that he discussed all the options and possible scenarios and gave us updates by ringing us. Hurley is home now safe and sound! :)

We were in a complete panic and the staff at the desk really helped in reassuring us and getting the dogs seen to quickly. Both dogs were happy leaving and we were relieved and grateful to the Moss staff. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: The team were very patient with an over excited large Bernese puppy and a small grumpy Cockapoo, they looked after the two dogs very well and administered all the required vaccines/etc. to keep them healthy for another year. Super friendly staff, plenty of parking, and a safe area to the front of the building to walk the dog while you wait for your appointment.

Fantastic experience: I am so grateful to all at Moss who took such excellent care of my boy Ludo this week when he needed emergency surgery as a result of serious injury. I rang en route & was met as I arrived into carpark. A very special thank you to Lucy but also my gratitude & thanks to every member of the team as we were shown such care, concern & absolute dedication to Ludo's wellbeing. The aftercare received to ensure his comfort has been second to none & he is now, thanks to Moss, on the road to recovery. And despite having injury & pain, he still goes in the door with a waggy tail. I have been with Moss for 20 years & in that time have met with all receptionists, nurses & vets who have always,without exception, treated my pets (and me!) with such kindness & compassion. I would thorougly recommend Moss.

Negative experience: I've had both of my cats registered with them and for routine vaccinations they'd be okay but not for anything serious. The first red flag that I came accross was when they tried to neuter my male cat,Milo. I got numerous calls that day from the vet(not allowed to say name)and at first I was told that my male cat was in fact a female,next that actually no he was a male,but the vet was unsure by this,next that they couldn't find his testicles,and so on and so forth.The last call from the vet was to advise me that they couldn't neuter him in the end & they were looking for permission to close him up and have another go at this when poor Milo recovered. When I picked my poor pet up I was shocked to see how much of his fur was shaved and how long the incision was,it took our poor baby a while to recover from this.It goes without saying that I never went back for them to 'have another go' at getting him neutered. The second time we had to,unfortunately,bring Milo to the same vet was on the 3rd of Jan '23. Our pet was very poorly,he was vomiting and extremely weak,almost unable to walk,not eating or drinking a single thing for the past 2 days. We were told that bloods had to be taken,the same vet mentioned above examined him.She told us that she'd struggled to get the bloods and that I had to come back later in the week and she'll try again but she might have to knock him out for that(other vets have taken bloods of him subsequently,and many times over,without any issues whatsoever and within seconds too!!) She told us that the results of the little blood she'd taken were inconclusive and it turned out after our pet went through a month of suffering that that wasn't the case at all,in fact his RBC,red blood cell count was extremely low that day and he was severely dehydrated which irreparably damaged his kidneys,I later found out.We were sent home with a course of antibiotics instea!!! 3 days later,I went back,more worried than ever,at that point our poor pet had almost a week of not eating anything. I said that to the same vet,I told her that he couldn't walk anymore and she put him on the floor and started to shake a bag of Dreamies at him,I will never forget this for as long as I leave. This vet DOES NOT LISTEN to the pet's parents and shows very little empathy also.I have no words to describe her behaviour. She mis-diagnosed my poor boy again,she told me that he had Giardia.She prescribed Giardia medication and more further expensive Giardia treatment and didn't do the bloods that would've probably bought years of his life. I medicated him for Giardia and waited for the results,I called Moss vets many times before I got a bleak negative result and I vowed to never step foot into this practice ever again. The Giardia treatment deteriorated his condition even further,he had an alergic reaction from it and swelled all over and he started to have breathing difficulties. In the middle of all of this ordeal I started to research the internet and I started assisted feeding. Long story short,we visited another Vet practice again,which also had him mis-diagnosed and he ended up in UCD where the proper diagnosis was given although this was nearly 2 months later. Our pet had Kidney disease which progressed rapidly due to the lack of proper medication and care.He also had IBD. Many pets manage to live with kidney disease sometimes for a good few years before they succumb to the disease,especially when they're young. I strongly believe that Moss's vets have failed our pet in the care that he deserved.We were robbed of a few more years with our precious pet which was just 2 years old when he'd passed. I thought I would post our story in the hope that some other people read it.Please bring your pet to UCD or the Kildare Vet Hospital if something in your gut tells you that something is seriously wrong with your pet,don't waste time trying to explain this to vets that just don't listen. I feel that Moss's vets have failed us in the duty of care that they owed us and we would never bring any of our pets in there ever again.

Fantastic experience: Miss Vets are amazing!!! The care they give & show to my dogs is second to none! I travel from Swords to them they are that good I would travel to Donegal for them! All the team are brilliant but special mention to Kurt & Ed who have preformed major operations on one of my dogs in particular. They are fantastic!

Negative experience: We had a few valid reason for nail cutting to protect our little cat, but the vet didn't do it because she WAS NOT willing to do so. It's great that the vet understood where we came from and was not against to cut nails though she didn't do it. We were so UNLUCKY to have her on the day. Our little cat now has her nails split and has to go to the vet the second time- no need to say this is a super huge challenge for her. We will never go back to Moss Vet again and will never recommend it to anybody.

Fantastic experience: My dog was put to sleep last week as he had a long term illness, Moss looked after him exceptionally well throughout his life & his death. A special mention to Kurt as he was Prince"s vet he is always so helpful, professional & sympathetic. I highly recommend them.

Our Chewbacca (guinea pig) had all the assistance she needed, they took care of her as much as they could and were very respectful and loving to us when she was gone. We can't be more grateful, thank you so much guys, for all the assistance and for the excellent work, we know that our Chewbacca was with the best professionals from beginning to end.

Negative experience: Want you in and out so quickly they miss diagnosed my dog and charged a fortune when he had a bad reaction to something they gave him and I had to go back they charged for that .. I have been to so many vets before through the years and all were great but this is by far the worst.. stay away if you love your pet

Negative experience: It's been almost a month now since we had to put our 9y old cat to sleep and I deeply believe Harley would still be with us, had Moss acted as professionally and responsibly as they should have. We brought Harley to them based on their reviews so I have to share our loss. We had to put our 13y old rescue dog to sleep in February due to kidney failure and lots of other issues. So in April, noticing our cat has lost some weight, appetite was on and off, was sleeping a lot more, we brought him to be checked and to have bloods done. The vet said Harley was in a good condition and no bloods were needed at the time, that maybe our recent house move and the arrival of our new dog might have had something to do. Notes say bloods were done by a different vet ( yes, but one year ago). Had bloods been done then and there, due to Harley's age, due to our concerns, Harley's kidney disease would have surely been detected and a treatment started. A comment, which is not in the notes, was also made that a bit if weight lost was not that bad due to his arthitis ( Harley was on special food for that). Harley continued with his routine of on and off eating, sleeping a lot, until August 4th, when he started getting sick and refused food. Hid from us the entire Friday. Found him on Saturday morning , hiding in the bushes, eyes closed, shivering. Called the vets first thing Saturday morning. At that point, I noticed his back legs were week and he had trouble sitting down. Told all the symptoms on the phone, was worried but only managed to get an appointment for 2.15. The vet noted Harley has lost a lot of muscle weight (from 4.98 in April to 4.1 ) , noted his vomiting, weekness, pain in the back legs and administered 3 injections. advice: if not better by Tuesday, come back for more investigations.(Harley was dead on Monday). Bill: 90eur. Harley had all the symptoms of a kidney failure, still no bloods done. The notes say we have elected that treatment, which is not true. My husband simply followed the vet's advice. Harley's condition got worse and next day, on Sunday morning I took him to minightvets, the emergency service in Kildare. Upon physical examination, his kidneys were found enlarged and painful to touch, hence his pain in the back. Bloods were taken immediately and he was put on fluids. The kidney values came over the roof high. Was told on the day, it did not look good. Chose to keep Harley there overnight. He could not eat and was on a mild pain killer for his pain. From what I was told, a strong painkiller would have further damaged his kidney. A painkiller was one of the injections administered the previous day...Next day, the vet told me there was no chance Harley was going to recover and we were just prolonging the inevitable. Our bill was 490Eur and our cat was dead. He was only 9 and a half, a beautiful, loving, calm companion whom we lost. We don't know if he was in pain all this time. Mivet sent the file to Moss. We got a card from mivet, no call or a word from Moss until I emailed them asking why no bloods were taken on both occasions we were there. Why some 3 injections were administered based on a guess, instead of emergency bloods. Sympathies were sent and told investigations will be carried out. A week after, email arrived with notes attached stating bloods were recommended.....
