Negative experience: Only place I could get a hold of and trying to reach out for help at multiple vets and specialist for my gecko, but seemed dismissive and uninterested. Told me it was pointless to come down that day even tho we explained that it's critical and she needed attention ASAP as next 24h are crucial but didn't seem to care told Friday was only availablity, rang again suddenly be told there was availability next day. I explained again that we had to come down that day but no, not interested in helping. She died in my hand 6am that morning after clinging on for her little life. I did everything I could on my part but she needed professional care which sadly got ignored. I understand that vets are busy but still if it's urgent and an emergency it shouldn't be dismissed like I was and based on other reviews for this establishment not the only one who was dismissed...

Negative experience: DO NOT GO if u want ur pet to live. Firstly I would like to say when we went for my first dog who was dying, they had to have known he was dying your a vet you learned this, They took him in and called an hour later to come pick up his dead body cause he died they didn’t do anything expect for take away the last few moments with my dog. Then our other dog started getting sick so we brought her in to this vet, they gave us medication with no knowledge of what’s wrong with my dog js some painkillers and appetite boosters. After the fourth visit we were told she needs an X-ray, so we proceed with the x-ray only for them to find absolutely nothing to tell us what’s wrong, so instead of taking a loss we brought her to a different vet in trim and they did the exact same thing an X-ray and with just one appointment we figured out what’s wrong with my dog. The exact same procedure done in both practices and only one actually gave us result and it wasn’t highfield vet. If we continued to go to this vet and they continued to not know what wrong with my dog she would be dead because we learned she needs to be fed a specific way or she could die, if we didn’t know this she would be dead. Keep in my mind we had both X-rays done in the same week not even days after the first one. USELESSSS DO NOT GOOOOOOOO FOR LIFE THREATENING REASONS THEY DONTTT CAREEEE THEY WANT MONEYYYYYY!!!!!!

Negative experience: Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Have been here a few times and some of the staff are plain rude and have a terrible attitude. Brought my cat in today as he hasn't been feeling well and instead of doing any blood work to find out what the actual issue is, they presume it's an upset tummy and prescribe medication. Said if it doesn't work, they'll have to do scans and tests.. why not just do a blood analysis in the first place to prevent misdiagnosis which this practise has done if you read the other reviews. Was told I'd get a call back when I rang over another symptom he presented with that was worrying, no call and vet had gone home by the time I rang again, no consideration/apology and given a crap excuse instead. Doesn't feel like some of them even care.

Negative experience: Went to Highfield with a quite sick dog. Medication was prescribed. After a week we went back due to no improvement. Was told it's just one of thoes things he is a old dog. (Less than 10years old) and offered more medication which was not in stock but had to pay for it there and then. No blood tests or scans were done. Did not feel comfortable with the vet that was there so took our dog else where. Thank god the medication was not in stock as it turns out the medication and diagnostic was completely wrong and was doing more harm than good.. Dog is now perfect after going to a different clinic.

Negative experience: Very poor and would not recommend. Seemed only interested in making money from selling pills without even undertaking an examination. There are much better vets around in my opinion.

Fantastic experience: Couldn’t be any happier with the treatment my dog was given here, the care and kindness they had towards us was amazing. My dog had to get almost all of his teeth removed due to lack of care from his previous owners. We had a consultation and we were given a next day surgical appointment for him. The teeth that didn’t need to be removed were polished and descaled, they left them looking brand new! We opted to sign up for the pet plan, which saved us a lot with the cost of his surgery, and as he’s a senior dog the free appointments are greatly valued too. Would rate higher if i could, the vet we seen was very gentle and kind with our dog!

Fantastic experience: We followed Marta to Highfield for the care of our little exotics. She always goes above and beyond when they've been ill, our last little one Wilbur couldn't be saved despite best efforts. Marta and the other staff showed such compassion in helping make the decision to let him go, and looked after him so well, they got little tiny paw prints and a little packet of forget me knots seeds that my daughter is now taking care of for him. The respect and understanding they showed for a small furry, and for my daughter (12) who had a great little bond with him was amazing! Thanks again Marta

Positive experience: Didn't have a good first experience with Noel so docked a star for that. But have since asked for different vets and they've all been great. Particularly Victor. He is really attentive, gentle and caring towards my pets. And showed compassion when sharing some difficult news. He was also very thorough at detailing the options for caring for my dog. I've also seen Shauna and Marta who were nice to deal with too.

Negative experience: Extremely upsetting experience with Highfield Veterinary Clinic. We had to bring our cat in to be euthanised after her cancer diagnosis. 3 or 4 receptionists/vet nurses were present in the reception when we arrived. They were rude, disinterested and unsympathetic as to why we were bringing our cat in. While we were in our consultation room waiting with our sick and dying cat, we had to listen to a chorus of loud chatter and laughing through the paper thin walls for about 10mins until the vet turned up. At this point we were prompted to pay in advance and they were very pushy about selling us further services such as cremation. During the procedure, our cat was taken from the room to have an IV put in twice as the first IV insertion failed. It was a very upsetting experience to have our cat taken from us in her final moments. We had to ask the vet twice to ask for the loud chatter to stop, to which we were simply told it was due to the design of the building - there was no acknowledgment of the staff acting unprofessionally. I cannot believe the rude and disgusting behaviour of the staff in Highfield Clinic. We will never be back with any of our other animals. Do not go there.

Negative experience: The rudest people ever, especially the VET MARTA. My wife went in to get medication for our dogs. The desinterested receptionist was unable to find our name or the dogs name in the system for 15 minutes even though our dogs have been on their plan for nearly two years. Finally, after checking with the Vet, the receptionist handed over the pills, without the usual sticker with pill description and dosage. She refused to hand over the box and the leaflet since „she thrown it away already” She rudely told my wife to read what it says on the silver foil which is super small writing which my wife due to sight problem could not see. We have two small yorkies, and my wife wanted to make sure that we are giving them the right pills and do not overdose since the dogs are very small and we were worried that we may give them something we are not sure what it is which for such small dogs can end in death. We requested to talk to the Vet MARTA, who came out, did not listen to us and asked us to leave because THE RECEPTIONIST WAS UPSET. Can you imagine that? We were told, we have abused the staff, which is not true!! We simply wanted to make sure what was given to us!!!!! Be wery aware of these people, especially the VET MARTA. Very rude, both of them, they don’t care about the paying customers, but most importantly, the don’t care about your pets wellbeing. After nearly 30 minutes of fighthing with both of them, we have been given the original box and leaflet. Imagine what could have happened when a wrong pill would have been given or if we have overdosed it since no instructions were given or dosage was printed on a sticker. THEY DON’T CARE. We immediately requested to cancel the plans for our dogs, which OF COURSE was not possible as none of them “experts” did know how to do that. I AM CONTACTING THE VETERINARY BOARD FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING.

Negative experience: Rude rude -service at the desk, the person working at the reception has no idea about her job. He doesn't even know how to use a computer--had problem with finding me in the system , after giving her my name, address, names of the dogs and she turns his eyes on customers. Pay -27 euros /month on the VIP plan and you are treated like an unwanted person, they give you medicines without giving the name of the medicine and the expiry date of the tablets. I want speak to manager on duty but they told me to leave the clinic I'm recommend this place !I do not trust this clinic where medicines are dispensed by a receptionist who is not interested in her work and the welfare of the animals. In all the Veterinary clinics I have dealt with before - they gave me the names of drugs and dosage - in this HIGHFIELD VETERINARY CLINIC-NAVAN-the drugs are dispensed by an inexperienced secretary Rude horrible people!

Negative experience: Would not recommend this practice at all. The only good thing is their vet Noel Foley. They are very willing to up their prices completely unnecessarily when other vets are not. I've even written to the manager and got no reply to my complaint.

Fantastic experience: Great service getting our dogs their pet passports. Would recommend this vets. They didn't try to talk us into any unnecessary services or treatments we didn't need, just straight to the point and did what was needed.

Fantastic experience: The customer service and care in Highfield Veterinary is amazing. Last week I contacted them in a distresses state as our dog was in an accident. Karen was absolutely amazing and we were seen straight away by the vet. Thankfully our dog is fully recovered and the parents have recovered also.

Negative experience: Terrible service. The lack of unprofessionalism is ridiculous and it’s all a money racket with them. This isn’t the first time they have caused more harm and good to family pets of ours. Had to bring our pets to other vets to fix the damage Highfield caused and never properly fixed. Won’t be back again

Fantastic experience: I've had two experiences with Highfield Vets in Navan and I have to say, both have been extremely positive. Our first visit we were seen by Marta who was kind, reassuring and treated my dog Lila with respect, kindness and compassion. Our second visit we were seen by Victor and he is so kind, sweet and gentle, stopping to chat and engage with my children which is so important as they too are pet owners and have grown up with our dog, they don't know life without her so including them helps reassure them too. Victor was thorough, took time to talk and investigate, and helped lift our dog into the car when we were leaving. Karen, who greeted both times, is lovely, funny and engaging and everything you would want on arrival when you're worried about your pet.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic vets. Obviously great with animals but also takes time to engage owner to see if advice is needed or can be offered. The option of walk in evening clinics is great and handy if working 9-5 job. Best of all their not over priced.

Fantastic experience: Not only was Tom, who came out to the clinic to meet me, very nice and understanding even though it's Christmas Day at 8.30pm, he also was very careful when examining my cat. And even with 2 injections it was not expensive at all. Very happy that my LandLady recommended them.
