Negative experience: This is the Ryanair of vet practise . Very expensive only trying to get € . Vets continuously change ( new vets are young and foreign as in hard to understand ) . So lack of experience results in unnecessary tests . Blood test €100 ! Urune dip stick €28.50 - your GP would include this with a €70 consultation . I joined when this was paddy Traynor practise - now it is owned by an uk company who only wants €€€ . Only go if you have insurance

Fantastic experience: Massive thanks to the team in Ark Vet and for everything they did for our 3 year old French Bulldog, Reggie. It's been a couple of months since Reggie was in for his BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome) surgery and we can honestly say it's the best thing we could have done for him. Being a Frenchie, Reggie was beginning to snore a lot more when sleeping and had difficulty exercising on the warmer days of the year as his breathing was obstructed. We went into Ark Vet for a routine checkup and this surgery was advised by the team. We decided to go ahead with the surgery and everything from start to finish was excellent. The surgery was a complete success and Reggie's quality of life is so much better for it. Reggie's breathing is normal now, he can walk and run around for longer periods of time, he honestly no longer snores at all and the main thing is how he just seems so much more energetic and lively. Once again a massive thanks to Paul McCarthy and team for everything they did, life changing for Reggie and a surgery I would highly recommend for anybody considering this for their Brachycephalic dogs.

Fantastic experience: My beautiful girl had to be put asleep 3 weeks ago. I had her 13 years. She was a very special dog. Over that 13 years,she was so well looked after by Ark Vetcare Dun Laoghaire; from the very efficient girls on reception to Paul and all of his colleagues. I knew by looking at Jasmine that day that she was really unwell so I called Ark Vetcare Dun Laoghaire. Julie,on reception,was so understanding and empathetic and arranged for Vet Leah, to do a house visit. Julie, knowing me as a client of the practice for many years,kindly accompanied Leah on her visit. On looking and assessing Jasmine, lying listlessly on my bed, we all knew what the best,and kindest course of action for Jasmine was. So,on 25th April, Jasmine closed her eyes for the last time, with me at her head, petting her and telling her how much she was loved,and Anto scratching her tail end (which she always loved!),Leah gently and professionally,gave her an injection,and she went to sleep. Her passing was so peaceful. I will never in my lifetime forget the kindness, compassion and empathy shown to us that day by Leah and Julie. Jasmine was in the very best of hands in Ark Vetcare Dun Laoghaire for all of her life,and,most especially,on her last day. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart,Leah and Julie. Fantastic experience: Great vet, our pets are healthy and happy and so are we. Ark DL is part of a bigger group and you can notice this in their plan offerings, product sales and pharmaceutical focus but as said, our pets are healthy so I'm not complaining too much. The vets and assistants themselves are super nice, kind, helpful and professional.

Fantastic experience: Best vet practice in Dublin. The staff is very friendly and the facilities are great. Our vet, Shauna, is amazing at her job and she has a deep passion for animals. They have looked after our 4 dogs for 2 years now, providing yearly boosters and general health checks. 2 of our dogs have gone under surgery with Shauna and things couldn’t have gone any better. Would recommend them 1000% any day of the week!

Fantastic experience: I find Ark Vetcare Dun Laoghaire excellent. We had trouble with our cat Toby and Claire our Vet sorted him out. I would highly recommend them to families friends.

Negative experience: Really disappointed with the service. Brought in two kittens, both two months of age. Really poor handling from the vet, who was rough with both kittens and paraded them around even though both were clearly distressed. Incredibly poor hygiene standards as vet tested temperature without cleaning device before or after. Kittens came home, and within 24 hrs of the appointment, one now had symptoms of the cat flu. This is completely ridiculous and honestly disgusting practice.

Fantastic experience: Thank you so much Caoimhe & Shauna for looking after my baby Charlie! He was a very complicated case and my previous Vets were not very helpful. This was my first time in Ark Vets and I would highly recommend them. Caoimhe went above and beyond with all the tests possible (ultrasounds/urine tests/ X rays, lab tests etc ) to get to the bottom of Charlie's kidney stone issue. Shauna carried out his neutering operation as he also had a undescended testicle that was never picked up as a pup in my previous vets. Charlie's scars healed perfectly, no issues with redness/infection etc. You wouldn't even notice the mark now only 2 weeks later. Amazing work! If you want a caring Vets that puts 100% effort/care into getting your pet back to health then Ark vets is the place for you. I honestly can't thank Caoimhe especially enough for her patience and help.

Fantastic experience: I had to say goodbye to my dog after an illness. It was hard but the pain was soothed by the kindness and compassion of Shauna and the whole team. They are so kind to pets and their owners. I would strongly recommend them, If you want great care for your pet, then look no further.

Fantastic experience: I have been using Ark for 20years and they have always been so good to deal with. Such care and attention was shown to us most recently when we had to say goodbye to our dear cat and the staff made a really difficult time so much easier. Our Vet Lisa gave so much advice and time in the lead up to the decision which I felt went beyond expectations.

Negative experience: Our family have been using Ark Vetcare for many years and never have much problem with them. Recently we got some worm tablets for our dog. The price was €52. We thought this was a bit expensive, so my wife contacted a family member's vet and bought the same medication for €27. She called Ark Vetcare and was very shortly by the girl on the phone that they only sell them and they make no money out of selling the medication. She asked to speak to a supervisor and was told 'THERE IS NO SUPERVISOR AND YOU CAN MOVE TO ANOTHER VET IF YOU LIKE', she then hung up without saying good buy to my wife. The conversation lasted less than 5 minutes. Not only was it poor value for money but the customer care was awful. Needless to say, no one has called us back.

Fantastic experience: Ollie is an old dog who is very nervous when visiting Ark always. He was treated by Lisa who wasn’t at all daunted by his show of aggression. This aggression is not his normal demeanour. He is usually quite docile. It is very comforting and reassuring as the owner of a sensitive pet to have someone as confident and capable as Lisa attend to Ollie.He may have a few years left and it would be great to have this continuity of care with Lisa if possible. Fantastic experience: 23 Years going to Ark vets. Started with Paddy, then Paul and now some of the newer vets. I can honestly say i trust them 100% and know that they have the best interest of the pets at heart . Staff are so welcoming & caring in the good times and the bad. Sadly iv seen a few of the bad. And in those time little things matter like getting a letter saying how sorry they were that your loved pet had passed. I just wouldn't bring my pet anywhere else. Veterinary care is just amazing.

Fantastic experience: My Westie Roxy swallowed part of a Hot Cross bun containing sultanas at 19:55 the other evening. I immediately rang Ark in Dun Laoghaire and Nicola told me to bring Roxy down asap even though the closing hour is 20:00. I got there just after 20:00 and Shona took care of Roxy thank goodness. I left with one sad but healthy doggie at 20:30. Not once did either Nicola or Shona make me feel I was being a nuisance or that they were tired and ready to go home after a long days work. Ark vet care offer 12% off alliance pet insurance & a loyalty programme towards Hills Pet food. This is very helpful. There is never any hassle in booking in , they are flexible with times, open late and extremely helpful with times. Dara was so kind to my new kitten and organized everything seemlessly for my next visits. A warm friendly Vet’s whereby you can see everyone gets along with together which is obviously a win win for both staff, pets and their owners. Highly recommend.

Positive experience: My cat was under treatment to check her vomiting, she was taking pills for a month but she didn't get better. The vet responsible for her, repeated the same medication without doing any exam, even though she kept vomiting. After the 2º round of pills she didn't get better and I got desparated when she stops eating so I took her back to ArkVet and ask them to do an X-Ray. She did a bunch of exams, I spent a lot of money and nobody was sure about her problem. Instead of getting a full report of her X-Ray, I received 2 lines writen and at the end"not sure" about the result. I had to go to another Vet, get a Second opinion to be able to reach out UCD. The Vet told me that no one would be able to diagnostic what her problem was, only UCD, they are the only Vetenary capable to do that. Unfortunatly was too late and 1 week later she passed away. My advice: If your Pet has a more complicate case, try to go to UCD, they are the best and have a deep knowledge of cause about difficult animals issues.

Fantastic experience: I attended Ark Vetcare for 14 years with my beloved Charlie. Charlie is gone now and it is hard to put into words how wonderful everyone in Ark has been to Charlie, and me, over all these years. He had a number of ailments including inflammatory bowel disease and bad arthritis, apart from many other things such as eating bits of wood which got stuck inside him and had to be surgically removed, twice! Through every little thing Ark attended to him like he was the most precious animal in the world, which he was to me! He had a wonderfully happy and charmed life and a lot of that was due to Arks attentive care ensuring that he was pain free and on the right meds and getting the right treatment. They are a caring, professional and very empathetic team. Thank you Ark, especially to Lisa Henley who was Charlie's primary vet. Thank you Paul for running such a great practice, thank you Bri for looking after my claims always so promptly, thank you Carol, Julie and all the wonderful and kind nurses, I'm sorry I can't remember everyone's name but I owe you all a huge debt of UPDATE!!! After an absence of 2 1/2 years , I’m back with Ark and my new (older lemon10 year old) dog, Mindy. Mindy had a lesion on her spleen and a big lump on her abdomen. Spleen was removed and what turned out to be a hernia, repaired. So major surgery! I everyone in the practice was wonderful, just as I found with my last little angel, Charlie, whom they cared for for 14 1/2 years. Shauna is so kind, empathetic and ever so gentle. She took expert care of Mindy and now my Mindy is like a new dog! The care before, during and after her surgery was just the best! As well as that, I really have never seen anything like the stitching job Shauna did ! The incision was huge, all along Mindy’s abdomen and seriously, it is invisible! Shauna could easily have a second career as a high end seamstress in a haute couture fashion house! But I would insist she stay with Ark as a vet! so thank you, thank you and thank you again to the whole Ark team and in particular the wonderful Shauna. ♥️ Read Less

Fantastic experience: The team led by Paul are extremely caring, and put my Brown Labrador dog, Bailey, at ease every time he visits for his vaccines. They are also hugely sympathetic, and provide great support if your dog has to be put down (unfortunately my bearded collie Alifie passed 3 years ago). Highly recommended, (we have been going to Arkcare Dun Laoire for 30 years+)

Fantastic experience: For 12 years now our dogs have received the most professional veterinary care at Ark Dun Laoghaire that I could have hoped for. These vets care so much that one of them even took my dog home and sat up all night with him on his own couch to keep the dog alive just incase he didn’t receive that care elsewhere. They genuinely care and go to extreme lengths to do what they can to help their patients. And they are also experts in preventative medicine to extent your pets life. We got at least 6 more years with our dog as Paul figured out how to prevent him getting ill again. Best vets in the world ‍⚕️ ‍⚕️

While the situation was hard at the time to say goodbye Paul and his team were all so professional kind and full compassion which was so greatly appreciated. We have been very blessed to add some new members to our family in past couple of months. Which has made things a little easier for our Girl Maxie. She misses her pals. But she has some new four legged friends to help her heal. Thanks again for all the support from Paul and all the team. Fantastic experience: Always a really good experience when we have to visit Ark vetcare. Friendly and efficient staff and informed all along of cost and potential treatment options.

Negative experience: Was with the cat twice, two nice vets but l didn't get impression that they have enough experience. Our cat ended up being more sick after two visits. We were also charged for medication we didn't get after the visit - had to go back next day to collect it !

Fantastic experience: Probably one of the best vet practices in the country - really strong and committed to animal welfare and education. I first went to Paddy Treanor in the 80s with my grandparents and their dogs and I still go today with my dog. Enda is our vet - an. excellent vet, very kind and caring
