Fantastic experience: My partner and I wore looking for a good vet and heard of raheny vets from word of mouth. We needed a pet plan for our frenchie as she is quite poorly bred. Shauna took care of Kali with such care. She done everything she could to get her into tip top shape. We have her in the vet for next week & although it’s only been a day we can see a big improvement in her. This is all thanks to Shauna. What a lovely woman and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Big big thank you to Shauna and all at the raheny vets team.

Fantastic experience: I cannot speak highly enough of Raheny Veterinary Hospital! Wonderful, caring and genuine people who care deeply for animals. I brought my cat Ginger here until his death at 18 a few years ago. They cared for him so well throughout the years and when it was time to say goodbye they light a candle in reception out of respect. I found a stray cat outside my house and Raheny veterinary hospital was the only vets that would take it in. They didn't charge me and actually thanked me for bringing in the stray and very sick cat. The staff here really care, thank you for everything!

Negative experience: Changed my opinion on this clinic, it has really gone down hill in all aspects pricing, professionalism, cleanliness, currently looking for a vet that actually run a clinic for the love of animals not the love for money. The receptionists are actually so rude here, not very polite to customers at all.

Negative experience: I was warned to take my dog out of this vets a long time ago, i didnt listen. The veterinary nurses are so lovely but the receptionists are so rude with no manners if you catch them on a bad day! Honestly the stories im hearing about them after my interactions the last 2 weeks, I only have myself to blame, on top of that the place is scruffy, cobwebs everywhere, animal piss dried in in most corners (looks rarely cleaned) and id say it hasn't seen fresh paint since it opened 40 years ago...go see for yourselves

Fantastic experience: You know what it means to take care of an animal that is part of the family... Besides, if you have to understand the problem quickly... We are the "slaves of a wonderful kitten Talpottina. We had a problem: she was limping And we had to figure out how to help her. At the clinic they really know how to help. Negative experience: Absolutely dreadful My dog last week was misdiagnosed with a disease she didn't have I went with bleeding in her mouth which wasn't investigated He was more concerned about her tummy Cushions disease Which turned out to be a fat tummy Was charged in full for the tests that a vet clearly got wrong I had a consultation when I went back to collect my dog only to be discussed in a waiting area where people stood in disbelief This was the worst experience ever Hygiene was the clinic is pretty poor Staff could learn to mop a floor and maybe some customer service I certainly would not recommend this place Its all about making money Im absolutely disgusted Lucky to get a one star from me

Fantastic experience: We didn’t see a vet here but we had to find somewhere late on Saturday to buy special vet food for my dog and the girls were so very helpful and accommodating! Made a very stressful situation so much easier!

Fantastic experience: I cannot praise my vet Shauna enough. She went above and beyond during the consultation yesterday. I was upset because the dogs were both sick & because my mother died recently. Shauna could not have been more lovely, whilst also taking her time to examine both of my dogs. Although I was there with 2 dogs, I never felt rushed. Quite the opposite in fact. I was worried about my dogs and she spent a considerable time exploring & discussing various avenues of treatment with me. People underestimate the value of someone taking the time to check in on another human being, especially in a busy workplace. I left the clinic feeling relieved that the dogs were going to be ok and lighter because of Shauna's kindness to me. Both dogs (& Mammy ) much better today thanks to you Shauna! I would also like to praise the ladies on reception, who are always so warm and welcoming & put worried pet owners at their ease. If people ring & the ladies don't know the answer to a question, they always get back to you really quickly. They are so efficient!

Negative experience: Kept our cat for few days, promised us that they've done x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy and could not find any reason our cat vomiting for few weeks (unlike the gem vet we found who spotted the foreign body in 10-15 mins, identified where it stuck, showed us how to take it out). Thanks for keeping her alive for few days though

Fantastic experience: Vaccination health check and nails cut. All good, was seeing on time and didn’t take long.

Positive experience: Gone downhill in my opinion, I was there for close to an hour and the place smelled quite bad, didn't see anyone cleaning or disinfecting the area. Plenty of staff at reception and we're not too busy. Also, The costs for a consultation and some general meds have gone thru the roof. Will be looking elsewhere in the future.

Fantastic experience: I have been using this practice for a decade. I always felt so much welcome, and the compassion of the team has always been outstanding. You can really feel they serve well the mission of looking after our beloved pets, at reasonable rates. It is a busy practice yet the familial atmosphere is second to none. Also I find it amazing and so handy that it is open 7 days a week with a wide opening hours. Many tests can be performed on site ensuring the best service. To Pat and his team, thank you.

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately my dog always seems to become unwell at weekends, bank holidays etc when there is limited availability in the vets, however this vet always manages to get him in and look after him which I am very grateful for. Would recommend them.

Negative experience: I am writing this review to warn everyone about the risks of prolonged antibiotics use. My cat had a vomiting problem and also had diarrhea at the time of the appointment. He was prescribed Flagyl. For the first week he didn't vomit so I thought the medication was doing him some benefit. On our next visit our vet told us that it was safe to take for a long time, he might even take it for the rest of his life and that it had less side effects compared to steroids. Soon his vomits came back but was not very frequent. 3 months after starting antibiotics we moved to Spain and I was giving him half dose and skipping some days. When his vomits became more frequent I started giving the full dose again. He had an ultrasound at our new location and the new vet told us that his gastrointestinal tract had suffered a lot because of the prolonged antibiotic use. We stopped antibiotics and started stereoids. He continued to lose weight and his diarrhea did not heal. A tissue sample was taken from the intestine to investigate the possibility of cancer. The first result was not clear so we were told an additional test was needed. Our vet recommended to start chemotherapy because his condition had gotten worse. Soon he refused to eat so started being fed through a tube inserted into the esophagus. 4 days after starting chemo he died. When we attended Raheny Vet Clinic he already had a chronic problem but he was not dying. After the treatment there he passed the point of no return.

Fantastic experience: What can I say? Pat and Helen and their team are truely amazing. They go above and beyond. I’ve been going there for over 30 years and my dog was so ill this weekend. They took her in and scanned her . She was kept in on IV meds and I was updated constantly. I really thought I’d be saying goodbye to her on Sunday but I have her home with me. Still ill but well enough to come home on meds. I’m so grateful to Pat and the team. I’ve never come across a more caring team.

Fantastic experience: Great local veterinary practice. Very efficient, hardly any waiting before appointments. They sell food and meds on site. Nice and friendly reception area. Have been taking my dog there for 3 years for various things and regular checkups. Vets are all excellent with my dog. Would recommend

Fantastic experience: Fantastic vet clinic. Met several vets by now, all different approaches but all great. Nurtures my dog there, dealt with a chocolate episode, and doing regular vaccines and consultations. Vets are always thorough, in good humour with my nervous doggy, and very clear on costs and best rwcimmendations with myself. The slots are normally available the next day or even same day in emergency. The only thing - sometimes it’s not easy to get through to them on the phone, but getting better as well

Fantastic experience: I’ve been taking my dogs here for probably thirty years. I’ve always been very happy. This morning my dog was a little bit drunk on her feet. Her balance was well off. So I rang the lads. They fitted me in that morning. I was seen within five minutes of the appointment. Sweet and much more importantly the dog is grand . A little fever but she got her shot and tablets, thanks lads. Much appreciated.

Fantastic experience: We have just started visiting this practice in the last fortnight with our 14 and a half year King Charles. They have been wonderful and such a huge source of comfort as we begin facing into inevitable old age related problems with our beloved Misty. Cannot recommend them enough. We know we will remain loyal customers for many years to come. Just want to add this. I now attend monthly since 2019 with my Addison's dog. She turns up with her tail wagging and kisses for the staff. She's a typical grumpy Terrier but turns to butter when she reaches the vets. That says so much about the care and attention she gets here.

Fantastic experience: We have 2 dogs that had to have surgery in past few years, the staff, reception, nurses and vets are very friendly, helpful, professional and compassionate, we would not go to any other vets now, I can't really recommend them enough. It has been wonderful every time we have brought our dogs(family members) to them.

Negative experience: Absolutley ripped off, for an ear infection for a German shepherd, 97 euro. Basically could have done it myself, +29euro for salt water ear wash.. Won't be returning.

Fantastic experience: Can't recommend this vets for cats enough. After one vet vaguely diagnosing our cat with 'depression due to seperation anxiety post lockdown' (there must have been an opinion piece circulating at the time or something because he wasn't even born then) without even physically examining him and 2 others rough handling him and saying he was fine but that they 'weren't really cat people', our cat was extremely aggitated at any vets. But despite this, in Raheny they did all they could to give him a proper examination and eventually diagnosed him with a rare disease that he now has the right treatment for. Thanks folks. Fantastic experience: Changed to raheny vets after a poor experience elsewhere and this clinic is fantastic in every way. I was recently in for an emergency visit and the care they showed me and my dog was exemplary. It is such a comfort knowing I can rely on them for any of my dogs future needs.

Negative experience: I have been attending Raheny Vets with my dogs for over 13 years without any problems. However, on my last visit, it was a completely different story. A few days before my dog attended Raheny Vets, while at the groomers, I was told to get my dog’s anal glands checked as they appeared swollen. When at Rahney Vets, I explained the issue to the vet and asked if they could check if the glands needed to be expressed. However, while my dog was waiting to be checked on the table, the vet listed off several treatments they also believed my dog would need, which had no relation to treating his glands. After several minutes of the vet listing other treatments, I agreed to receive other vaccinations for my dog as I was told my dog’s vaccinations were out of date. When the vet the finally examined the glands the whole process took about 10 seconds and the vet said my dog would feel better now. However, when I returned home with my dog, he was very destressed, was not sleeping and was continuously licking and biting the area near his glands. I decided to get a second opinion and went to a different vet. The other vet could see the problem immediately and expressed the glands which contained a large amount of a dark, tick substance and blood as the result of a severe infection. My dog received antibiotics and pain killers and had to return for further treatment under aesthetic. I feel completely let down by Raheny Vets, who appeared more interested in upselling expensive treatments rather than dealing with the main issue my dog attended for. The vet on the day acted more like a salesperson as opposed to someone who was interested in ensuring my dog was treated correctly. I have lost all confidence in Raheny Vets and my dogs will not be returning.

Positive experience: Staff very friendly, thought the pricing was on the high side. Could make paw print on clay just a little touch that would mean a lot, what are you supposed to do with a photo copy ??. Would recommend putting a water dispenser in the waiting area.

Fantastic experience: We recently moved into the area and brought our Dachshund Peggy for a check-up - booked our appointment in advance. The vet and the staff on reception were amazing and so friendly! Appointment was a little more expensive than our last vet, but they do advertise the yearly veterinary subscription all over their practice & on their website, which works out much cheaper if visiting a few times per year & its really good value considering all that's included. Really Happy this practice is walking distance to our home

We are long time customers of the practice and they don’t just treat our dogs they care about them! I believe one to be as important as the other. They also offer a pet plan which is great for those of us who didn’t take out pet insurance initially and have significant monthly pet costs! I would highly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: Yesterday I had to bring a very sick and scared Labrador cross to the vet. From the receptionist who took my call to the extremely kind and understanding vet everyone did their utmost to help me and solve Mac's problem. He is not quite out of the woods yet

Fantastic experience: Our poor kitty Molly had to be put to sleep last week she was 13 ..Raheny vet took.such care in making her as peaceful as possible and let us spend time with her before she had to go but it was her time. I am very grateful for the time the vet took with Molly to ensure she was in no pain and also the care they gave us any time we had to bring her. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I took two cats , one who was old and needed checking and a week later my tom cat that had a wound on his belly. On both visits the vet was great and gentle. The vet was kind to us and our cat. 10 out of 10.

Fantastic experience: Have gone to Raheny Vets for over 30 years and have never had a bad experience. Most recently I left my two kittens in for neutering and they received such wonderful treatment and care. Positive experience: I gave a 3 star rating for the following reasons. Firstly, I've been going here for the past 13 years with my Dog. The Vets have always been thorough, knowledgeable and lovely towards myself and my Dog. I can't fault them in this respect. However, I took two stars off for cleanliness and prices. The whole clinic needs an overhaul as it's constantly deteriorating any time I go for an appointment. It needs far more than a fresh coat of paint too. It just looks old, dirty and messy. In terms of pricing, it is without a doubt the dearest Vet Clinic around. The pricing is scandalous and it has always been the case here. Even while sitting in the waiting room with 2 other people, we all got chatting and the first thing we all said was how outrageous the prices are and that this Vet Clinic is known for the high prices. All other clinics around the surrounding areas are far lower in terms of pricing and give the same if not better service. So why would Raheny be much more expensive if using the same treatments and medicines/vaccines etc? Also, it would be an idea to have numerous price lists scattered about the place as to not get shock induced heart failure while at the till.

Fantastic experience: They are very good, kind & understanding. As our last visit was heartbreaking our little Mylo, my daughter fur baby had to go asleep. But the staff & vet gave us all the time we needed & they did their up most best to save him but he was to sick at age 14. We be forever grateful to you all Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Every time I walk past with my dog her tail wags and she tries to pull me in which is such a testament to how lovely and friendly the staff are.. been coming here years and can't imagine using another vets as it's just such a welcoming atmosphere for both animals and owners :)

Fantastic experience: I'd blindly recommend them to anyone in need of top notch care for their pets. Super friendly, empathetic and thorough, not pushing for unnecessary treatments just to make more money. On top of that, they offer the fairest price around. By far the best vets in north Dublin. If you don't trust me, trust my dog! She was always so well treated that she'd rush towards the vet when walking around the area and would refuse to leave after consultations. I can't thank the team enough for everything, especially doctors Pat & Shane.

Negative experience: My dog was booked in for a sedate ear clean and a swab to be taken and sent to a lab for testing was told to fast the dog from midnight the night before and drop in between 8.30 and 9 for the procedure, rang at 2.15 to see what was happening was told she wasn't done and next on the list so they would ring me when she is ready to go. Collected the dog at 4.15 8 hours later in a state her facial hair was wet the nurse told me she would be drooling alot after the sedation which isn't true it's for the stress of sitting in a kennel that length of time she also smells of urine and has poo stuck on her hair the same nurse told me she was brought out on different occasions to go to the bathroom which wasn't enough as now it stuck on her coat and smells of urine. I told the nurse when dropping she is a rescue dog she is nervous and the fact that she locked in a cage for so long I'm so upset and angry and very disappointed in this clinic as I worked in this clinic for 11 years and nothing like that was ever going on,we aswell put the animals welfare and care first. I also have two kids very upset from this experience of how there dog was treated and left.

Fantastic experience: Another excellent visit to Raheny Veterinary Hospital, appointment was given on the same day and Ralph got a full check up and his infection sorted. This is the best practice in Dublin and I couldn't recommend enough.

Negative experience: Don't know what is gone wrong with them in Last few years, has become very unfriendly namely the reception staff, called today looking for painkillers for my dog telling them I couldn't afford a vet visit but could I just pay for tablets, I got if it's not within 6 months I'd have to see vet and that is that, I asked to talk to vet and she went away and another receptionist came on telling me I was wasting my time and rules are rules, I asked where was the vet I asked to speak to and was then met with Don't raise your voice to me , so after visiting Patrick keating as a vet since the late 1980s I'm done, like everything else the service is gone, by the way he had some lovely reception staff up till recent years, I do wonder

Fantastic experience: Raheny vet has competent and compassionate vets. Our dog Brutus and our hamster Hammie have been in their care, the fog for 11 years and several surgeries now. Dr Bobby was amazing in taking care of our hamster. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: I never have a problem getting an appointment if dogs suddenly get sick which is obviously great peace of mind. Everything including costs are explained in great detail. Reception staff very knowledgable and speak to me and acknowledge the pet too which is really nice. Vets always calm the dog first before examining so they are comfortable with them. If dogs need scans I am shown the scans and the details explained to me in great detail, I joked once that the information I get about my pet I didn't get when in for an overnight procedure recently. So thank you Raheny vets for caring.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with service provided here. Had a scan 5th July done on my rabbit which cost a substantial amount of money 400 euro!!. A plan of action was to be put in place by the vet due to rabbits results and he would get back to us but so far he hasn't.

Fantastic experience: Super friendly reception staff, the Vet was so loving and patient towards our very nervous dog. Everything was explained and our dog had a thorough examination and we weren't rushed at all, even though the surgery was busy. We had to travel out of our area to change to Raheny Vets and it was well worth it!!!

Fantastic experience: Expert care . Fantastic staff that really care about our pets. Our little Izzy got 5 ⭐ care & treatment. Going to the reception to pay the bill is never a nice experience, BUT I shopped around for prices and raheny veterinary was the cheapest by far . Thank you raheny veterinary hospital, You went above and beyond for our pet.

Fantastic experience: I've been using this veterinary practice for 30 + years, 3 dogs gone to rainbow bridge, they had 5 star treatment and the staff were very polite, kind,caring ,Mr. Keating is a very passionate man and does his job with compassion, I'm still taking my dogs there ,wouldn't go anywhere else

Fantastic experience: My dog is very anxious going to the vets and it is a very stressful experience but everyone was so understanding and nice about him and one of the nurses even came out to try help me (he wouldn't even go into the garden!). I've never had a bad experience at this vet, we even brought my childhood dog to this vet for years too x
