Fantastic experience: I was offered a same day appointment for an assessment of my cat. I no more than got settled in a chair and the Clinician came to the lobby to get us! And we were early! Our Clinician was very gentle, thorough, attentive and professional. He listened to my concerns and acted on them. He was willing to repeat the treatment plan when I needed. All in all, a great experience. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: Ark was our vet’s for our last two dogs and they were honestly so lovely throughout each visit. Everyone at reception always greeted them as their own and the condolence card sent after each passing was honestly just such a lovely gesture. We hold it dearly on a little remembrance shelf for them both and it gives us such comfort seeing their little prints. The out of hours vet that helped us say goodbye honestly couldn’t have been any more accommodating and reassuring, it was appreciated so so much - he made us and junior feel as comfortable as possible when saying goodbye. Thank you!

Negative experience: Beyond terrible experience at this clinic. The vet was very abrupt and borderline aggressive in manner, not what you would expect when dealing with sick animals and distressed owners. Instead of listening and fact checking first, he immediately assumed an aggressive stance. No treatment was offered until I specifically asked for it, which felt like pulling teeth just to get the bare minimum of care. Because of that, we now have to pay again to be seen at another Veterinary in order to actually get the help our pet needs. Unfortunately, compassion no longer seems to be part of the culture here. We will not be returning and will only use our other Veterinary going forward, where the vets consistently go above and beyond for both pets and their owners, treating animals as family, as it should be.

Fantastic experience: I found a young rook on the side of the road. Alive but badly injured. Ark vets knocknacarra took it in with no hesitation and checked him over. It wasn't good news and they ended it's suffering. I offered to pay and was told that there was no charge. I want to thank them though. They are Wonderful vets and a brilliant practice with a lovely team. Thanks so much.

Negative experience: Nice staff but charging us almost €900 for an ultrasound and a quick xray of our dying cat , just to tell us that Fibbs is dying, was not a great experience. We won't be coming back

I have always found them extremely helpful in every way and very compassionate in dealing with end of life situations. The surgery is always clean and the staff are very accommodating and competent. I would have no problem recommending them to any animal owners.

They took us in as an emergency at such short notice and provided gentle, kind and thorough care to my dog. We were met with such a warm reception from both support staff and Helena herself, and put so at ease throughout. The reception staff are second to none and the standard of care provided today the same ☺️

Fantastic experience: We have used ARK vets previously for our two cats. It isn’t close and with not being in Galway so much we recently used more local vets. I was concerned about our cat Ruby who just wasn’t well at all. I brought her in to ARK basically for a second opinion. Last minute and over the weekend they had me bring her in on Saturday morning. The premises are great, receptionists too, and vet who saw Ruby was very thorough with investigation. Ruby was calm with him. I felt the appointment was 5 star, the vet listened to me and did a thorough investigation, bar her weight, fur shedding there is not much to see but he checked for urine infection, which was negative but will test further, and gave Ruby a 2 week antibiotic after checking if the cheaper tablets option would be preferred. Requested bloods from other vets which are hopefully on the way. Fitting us in, the professionalism and care are exemplary. I couldn’t rate them any higher.

Without Aiden and his team our doggie would not have made it so grateful he left no stone unturned to find a cure and that he did! Would not go anywhere else!

Days, nights and weekends always available Lady who had multiple problems was lucky to have them to look after her From reception, to nurses and all the vets including Danny Evan and Aiden who diagnosed her multiple problems I will be always most grateful

Our vet James, gave our dog lots of time, a thorough examination and a considered treatment plan, explaining each step. The veterinary nurse provided easy to follow advice regarding our dog’s dietary plan. Overall an excellent clinic. Thanks to all involved in Cooper’s care.

Louise was extremely good and so kind and gentle with out pet, yet got the job done which wasn’t easy as our little cat was aggressive due to the pain he was in. Louise was just brilliant with him and so kind and helpful to us.Delighted with the care we were given. 10/10 here!!

Fantastic experience: It was our 1 st time using Ark vets and I cannot say enough about their kind welcome and very kind and patient vet Louise . Gary our girl is a nervous dog in new environments and not a fan of the vets. Louise patiently petted and waited for Gary to relax more before she gave Gary her shots. Gary didn’t even flinch! A very calm experience for Gary.

Fantastic experience: I was sent to Ark vets by my regular pet clinic who couldn't do a complicated intestinal procedure on my German Sheppard "Bella" and was met by Aidan the guy who carried out the procedure...long story short he saved her life and I'll be forever grateful! From my first visit to Ark to the final visit was all positive, very friendly staff who seemed very taken by my beautiful dog. A big thanks to everyone at Ark and I cannot recommend them highly enough...thanks for everything!!

Fantastic experience: My rabbit needed emergency treatment during a Sunday night back in September. Unfortunately I live on the far side of town and Ark isn't my regular vet but they were the emergency on call vet. We rushed my rabbit to Ark but unfortunately he died just as we got to the roundabout on the way. The vet that night rushed him in, tried to revive him but it was just too late but she tried everything she could for us and consoled me when she had to tell us he was gone. I think about that vet from that night and how absolutely wonderful she was to me on the phone and when we got there.

Negative experience: Very disappointed today with ark, my cat is in agony because they won't give out some medication that he was prescribed many times before, they want to pay for another consultation so I can be told the exact same thing I was told 6 weeks ago when I paid for consultation. It's nothing but money money money, they obviously don't care about cats welfare, sad reality.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Aidan by my local vet who was finding it difficult to diagnose the problem with my German pointer, unfortunately the news was not good but we were treated with great compassion. We are heading down the road of chemotherapy so there is some hope and I have faith that I can trust the wellbeing of my beautiful dog in Aidan and his staffs capable hands.

Fantastic experience: Had my 8yr old Labrador into James for tendon repair surgery in both back legs, cannot thank him enough! Still on the road to recovery but the difference this surgery has made is amazing! He is like a new dog again

Fantastic experience: Referred to Martin O'Malley for extensive dental care for elderly terrier mix from general vet as had previous problems with anaesthetic. Referral, assessment and surgery done in 10days. Very pleased with admin arrangements, thorough vet assessment, full information both clinical and financial preop, updates on the day and most of all kindness to the old girl herself. She's had excellent outcome, eating like a horse and she's got her mojo back.

Fantastic experience: My 4yr old Cavachon was hit by a car and his pelvis shattered. I was nervous about choosing a surgeon; however upon meeting James all my nervousness dissipated. Frankie (My Cavachon) is as good as new - beyond x-raying him you'd never know his pelvis was reconstructed using titanium plates and screws. I cannot recommend James and his team enough. I received a phone call everyday with an update which really meant a lot. Thank you again.

Fantastic experience: We had the misfortune of needing a vet over the recent May Bank Holiday weekend, but the good fortune to have our dog Tally attended to by Martin at Ark Vets. He was phenomenally patient with our phone calls prior to eventually coming in and made an unfortunate experience a good deal easier. We especially appreciated his gentle manner with Tally who had suffered a difficult weekend but got excellent care (and massive relief!) from her appointment with Martin. The efficiency of the follow-up info to our own vet was very impressive. Excellent service - no hesitation in recommending Ark Vets Knocknacarra.
