Fantastic experience: 5 star review for a 5 star vet practice..

Fantastic experience: Good professional service given to my little Pug Fred. I have been attending with him for 14 years and very happy with care. Luckily he has not needed major work.. Louise , the Vet very caring and gentle... all the staff deserve a 5 star. I am very pleased with the service. I however found that being g charged 67 euro for 3 consecutive consultations within a few weeks a little extreme.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been bringing my cat Jasper to Barna Vets for nearly three years and have always had a fantastic experience. The team are consistently kind, patient, and caring, and they always take the time to listen to any concerns I have. I never feel rushed during appointments, and every question is answered thoroughly. It’s such a comfort knowing Jasper is in such good hands. Highly recommend!‍⬛

Fantastic experience: The experience was excellent and the vet on duty on Saturday, 2nd May is absolutely amazing with regard to patience, the way he listened and his dedication and love for animals - in my case it was my cat and his reassurance for my concerns.

Fantastic experience: Excellent! My girls wouldn't go anywhere else. Always a fab welcome from their auntie Lillian & Rachel plus they love their vet Phillipa who makes them all better. Clean, friendly place with a friendly vibe...what more do a little Pom & teacup chihuahua want...The sisters are going here since they were babies, they are 12 & 11 years old now.

Negative experience: Don't bring your animals here. They will use every excuse to upsell you on unnecessary services. Even when they are completely unneeded and are detrimental to the welfare of your pet. If you love your pets, bring them someplace else! After all, imagine the overheads operating a clinic at that location by the main road in the centre of barna village.

Fantastic experience: The staff at Barna Vets were very competent, helpful and friendly. They treated our cat very quickly and carefully and it recovered fast.

Negative experience: Would have praised clinic in past but not after today.brought dog in for treatment less than an hour later problem happening again. Vet seemed more interested in selling me medication than anything. Not sure I'd bother with them after this, plenty other vets out there

Negative experience: I brought our sick cat to Barna vets a few months ago. The vets that cared with were good and empathetic with us . Unfortunately our cat turned out to be very sick so ended up being put to sleep. The only fault I have with these vets is how expensive they are. If I had known how expensive I would have went elsewhere. We paid around €1000 for about six hours of vet care and for our cat to be put to sleep. Disappointed at the end of the day to have such a bill and a dead cat. I believe if an animal is so sick that it can’t be treated and the only humane thing is for it to be put to sleep , this should not be charged for especially if a lot has been charged already . Heard afterwards that they are known to be very expensive

Fantastic experience: Our dear Olivia was looked after by the wonderful vets and staff, right up until the last goodbye. Always attentive to her food orders, phone calls for vaccinations and an emergency episode. We also want to thank the emergency vet on call on the 21st of April. He was very good and helped us a lot. Thank you for everything and keep up the excellent work and care.

Brought her into the vet on Friday morning was told she needed a operation for a very bad infection. They took her in straight away. Phoned me later to say everything went great. I collected her that evening. Had two follow up appointments to check everything was healing OK. She is now running around again better than ever. What a great service. Thanks again to all. Frances

Negative experience: I see a lot of positive posts here, but I would like put my comment on as I feel that the price they charge is outrageous. My small bichon frieze named Charlie had to venture to barna vet on Monday the 12th of Feb. This was a follow up to his vacillating in January. The vet said in January that at least one tooth needed removing, maybe two. As a pensioner I asked if February would be OK as I needed time to accumulate funds. Getting to the point, he did get two teeth removed... at a cost of €465.00... I think it is totally over priced and I feel very disappointed that this is the charge in today's climate. 2 years ago in moycullen vet he had 7 teeth taken out, that was only €251...I'm very unhappy..

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic vets! Cannot recommend them enough. Brought my very tiny kitten Belle in for a check up, the vet was very informative and helpful. The reception staff were so lovely and helpful both on the phone and in the surgery.

Fantastic experience: We rang this practice last Sunday afternoon with a dilemma- we found a kitten roaming around a carpark, and since we were only visiting the area, couldn't hang onto it til Monday, when the pet sanctuary opened. The vet was so helpful, we really appreciated it. So dedicated to her job.

Fantastic experience: I couldn't be happier with the level of care from Barna Vets over a number of years. The care and attention given to my cat who had a major skin infection that needed specialist treatment was reassuring. She had the best treatment and full recovery. Over the years I've had to say goodbye to loved pets, used emergency service for hit and run stray, called with minor concerns. I can confidently say I would use no other vets.

Fantastic experience: Today I visited Barna vets for the first time. All staff members we dealt with were very kind and professional. My dog was examined by Philippa. She is an amazing vet and I can't recommend her enough. She gave us so much attention and listened to me carefully. After my dog's blood test results were ready, she was able to put together all the information obtained (she even analysed the ingredients in our dog food!) and explain why my dog had suffered from liver problems before and how we can help her now. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: The kindness and care starts at the door and follows right in the door to the vet herself, they don't push anything on you and take real care of your pet.

Negative experience: Appalling. During a simple teeth clean they flooded her lungs, refused to see her or acknowledge it was anything but pain. Another vet had to treat her and the X-ray showed the lungs full of water from the teeth clean. They basically drowned her and it was too late to save her. This vet is the worst one I have ever experienced in my 50 years of having family pets. Go back to veterinary school and investigate your books.

Fantastic experience: Once again a great experience in Ark Barna. So pleased I moved to them from another practice. I am always greeted with a friendly face and myself and my dogs always remembered by reception even though we only go annually. The vet was fantastic, so thorough during a worrying, unsure time for me and my dog. Kept in contact regularly, updated at every point, well informed and involved in informed decision making. I just can’t fault the team. Thanks you once again

I was there for an emergency with my dog ​​which was not treated as serious by the clinic we used to go to, they sent us back home with my dog ​​still in very bad shape so I discovered Barna vets on a Thursday at 7pm desperate because my dog ​​was already too weak, Caroline kindly answered us on the phone and we went immediately to the clinic, I was scared and crying and she calmly controlled the whole situation quickly and treated us so kind. She definitely loves what she does! And now we will only go to Barna vets, all the staff are friendly and helpful. Thank you Barna vets because since that day my dog ​​is doing much better

Negative experience: Had the unfortunate task of bringing our family dog to this clinic.the vet took the dog into the back room. Vet spent approx 4mins with the dog did not ask me any questions ré vaccinations etc. Gave me ear drops and advised me to admiister twice daily. Charged 80euro. Four days later I returned to advise the ear drops were impossible to administer and the tube was damaged. The receptionist looked at me like I had two heads could not offer me an alternative and made me wait 25minutes to eventually replace the damaged tube (under duress). Never again. I wouldn't mind the same company own the vet clinic in Moycullen! The way this clinic is run it's like a factory no compassion for the animals.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly staff, both the lady at reception and the vet that looked after my bearded dragon. Instructions for after care were very clear and all information in relation to my pet was easy to understand. The set up in relation to covid shows that the business takes the matter seriously, there is no overcrowding in the lobby and the entrance has simple directions posted on the door and window. In summary I very much recommend the business.

Fantastic experience: Our cat,Betty, had to be put down on May 13th. She was 14yrs old and much loved, and since her passing, much missed. A very sad situation was made so much easier because of the care she received in Barna/ Moycullen clinic. A special mention for Maria and Lillian whose professionalism gave us confidence that she was getting the right care and who's kindness made decisions we had to make less stressful. Fantastic experience: I just did the maths, and I believe my family and I have been bringing our pets to Barna Vets for almost 10 years! Inevitably in that time they have seen us through good days and bad, and always with equal parts professionalism and compassion to both animals and ourselves. The vets and nurses all go out of their way to be helpful and accommodating, and you are guaranteed to find a smile and a friendly word; they all know each of our current 2 dogs and 5 cats by name, and by character, and in fact still refer fondly to pets who have passed away years ago! They leave us in no doubt that they are 100% invested in the animals' health and happiness, and our peace of mind. The clinic is in a lovely spot, with plenty of parking behind and is right beside the beach - a great plus for dog owners. I absolutely recommend Barna vets and their wonderful team, and know that my animals - in particular Leo the cat who considers a trip to the clinic to be a special treat! - would too!

Fantastic experience: I can honesty say you will not find a better Veterinary Clinic and if you are looking to be treated professionally, by very friendly staff in a well run clinic, look no further as you’ve found it! I moved to Barna from The Netherlands a few months ago with my family and our very loved dog, Kira. One of my first jobs was to review local Vets and after reading positive reviews about Barna Veterinary Clinic I visited them. From the very first phone call and visit I found all the staff to be extremely friendly, knowledgable and very prepared to go that extra mile in providing second to none customer service. Kira is a German Shepherd and has had dietary problems for the last few years but in the past few months started to lose weight dramatically. She had dropped to 22kg which was a lot lower that her very best weight of around 30kg. She was looking thin and started to get ear infections. We were obviously extremely worried about her health as she has been receiving daily medication for some time to combat these issues, although she'd never lost so much weight before. I provided our Vet, Leanne, with pages of my dog’s previous medical history and countless verbal updates. Leanne worked through this information, discussed every option with me and carried out many tests. After reviewing results Leanne arranged other investigatory work for Kira and then spent the time explaining to me the results. I felt complete trust in the Clinic and knew they passionate about returning Kira back to health. We have had many visits to the clinic since then and have always be able to book appointments that were convenient to us. A month or so on and Kira is doing much better and almost reached her highest ever weight. Yes we have new medication, but for the first time ever we understand exactly what her medical issues are. Although I had been happy with the service provided by our Vets in the Netherlands and prior to that in the UK, they hadn’t achieved the results Barna Veterinary Clinic have. We are extremely thankful to all the staff at the clinic and I highly recommend their services to you. I will remain a very grateful customer for all their hard work, even if Kira is a slightly less willing attendee.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I have tried a few vets in different parts of Galway City. By accident we noticed a vet practice in Barna village. We have 2 king charles cavaliers. Gave it a try and found Leanne wonderful, caring, good friendly staff, and interested in our two pets. We have been going to her practice now I would say 4 years. Keep up the good work, our two think it is their second home. Sean Treacy.
