Fantastic experience: My reticulated python has received treatment here previously for a respiratory infection with Fiona and has had check ups with Filipe. Both vets are extremely knowledgeable and professional! Everything is explained so well and nothing is ever too much. This veterinary practice is second to none when it comes to exotics and reptiles. I wouldn't go anywhere else and would highly recommend them

Fantastic experience: Nothing is too much for these guys! I have both my German shepherd dog and my middle aged cat under their care and the service is flawless. Staff have a love for animals that is always evident in both their care of our furry babies and us owners. I would highly recommend their pet plan the benefits are well worth it and it's great value for money.

Fantastic experience: Everyone is very nice and everything goes smoothly at this clinic. The vet explained all the options to me about my pet s condition and gave me options. I am living quite far from the clinic but for this type of service I'm willing to travel long distance.

Negative experience: Not compassionate whatsoever, ginger haired exotic vet in particular. Never met the other vet who took over my pets care. Sent out nurses to do the talking. Took 3 days to respond to an email and by that point my little girl had passed away. No warning that she could possibly die. Paid hundreds and not one warning of her quality of life. Disgraceful vets

Fantastic experience: My two dogs had their injections, the vet was so nice, she took her time with my dogs as one was terrified. Had a few questions and all were answered. Very welcoming and its spotless. I have my dogs on the health plan it really helps..so I would highly reccomend Palmerstown Vets, they are just amazing people.

Fantastic experience: An outstanding exotic vet practice! They squeezed me and my two guinea pigs in for a last minute appointment and were unbelievably kind when I showed up almost an hour late because of awful traffic. The entire team was warm, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable, truly the best exotic vets around. Filipe was brilliant. He answered every single one of my questions with care and expertise, making me feel completely reassured. Cannot recommend them highly enough!

We have a polecat and we had many issues finding good vet, but since we found Palmerstown vets all of our pets needs have been met with such careful care, and just the whole vybe is so good,everyone is so nice there,you can feel hom much they love animals and how much they care. Negative experience: goodevening/christmas eve, i entered your vet this year with my pet Rhinecanthus rectangulus. one of employees told me to do one and i responded with grabbing 67$ out the register and went to grab a mega spice box and fed it to the dogs outside.

Fantastic experience: My partner recently had to make the heartbreaking decision to put down his dog, and I can’t express enough how grateful we are for the compassion and care shown by Kate and the team. From the very beginning, she was kind, patient, and understanding, guiding us through every step with empathy and respect. She made sure our boy was calm, loved, and comfortable right to the very end. Afterward, we received a beautiful card with his paw and nose prints and a personal message that truly touched our hearts. It showed how much they genuinely care about their patients and the families who love them. Thank you so much for the dignity, kindness, and warmth you gave us and our dog during such a painful time. It meant the world to us and made an unbearable experience a little gentler.

Negative experience: Got an appointment for my pet. Was on the way running 5 minutes late and they said they cannot see him regardless as they had emergencies that came in but gave us no call at all to tell us they couldn’t see him anyway, We arrived and they point blank refused even though they could tell he was dying. We could’ve rang another vet or anything else but no got absolutely no notice. He died later that day and he could have been saved with that appointment or a bit of notice. avoid

Positive experience: This time I was very disappointed for the customer service. I got a text that my kitten due for spying. Fine, thanks for that. But no more details. Then my husbad got a day off and went brought our little one to clinic, before we weren't told, that she need to fast (for some reason I checked myself online), wasn't given any detail about the procedure. At the call, to book in our cat, I asked price for tge service-it was provided. But when husband went in, there additional fees appeared. Nobody told us , when I was booking her over the phone, that we need to pay deposit. When we have been collecting her, then we've been told that we need to come back in 10 days to take out stiches. By oroginal plan my husband & I should be away at that time, luckily plan slightly changed and my husband (hopefully) will be available to drop kitten to clinic to take out stiches. It causes a lot of stress. Service was amazing 3 years ago. I brought in to check our tortoise.

Fantastic experience: Brought a goldfish to Palmerstown vets for suspected eye infection. Vet examined him and gave us antibiotics.very happy with the service.

Fantastic experience: I was pleasantly happy with everything, my dog had an absess in his anal glands which had come infected. I acted on this quickly. The receptionist was very welcoming which was really lovely. The veterinarine acted on the absess quickly & gave antibiotics to clear the infection up. Archie & i are very grateful for this quick response :)

Fantastic experience: Went with Sumo with a sore leg vet explained that with small dogs their knee cap can go side to side and get stuck hurting their ligaments so that's what happened. Everything explained on how I need to look after him got medicines and he got an injection to start treatment straight away. Was told any issues to go back straight away. He's on their plan so cost was so much cheaper than I expected. Lovely staff would highly recommend. That's Sumo dozed up on medication and feeling great!

I didn't wait long to be called the vet listened to me and then examined Winnie and told me what the problem was so all was good. I recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: Thank you Charis and Dr Filipe for helping me with my sick betta fish. In the end it was just his time to go I suppose but at least I know we tried to cure him. He passed away peacefully resting on a leaf. I really appreciate the depth and breadth of your knowledge of animals, especially fish. They deserve to live happy healthy lives too and I'm glad Palmerstown Vet is an option for those of us with fishie friends in our family.

When my cat, Juno, needed a procedure, I was kept fully informed throughout the entire process. The veterinarian contacted me before, during, and after the procedure to explain each step clearly and ensure I was reassured. They even followed up the next day to check on Juno’s recovery. I was provided with a detailed cost estimate upfront, with no unexpected or unnecessary charges. Their transparency, communication, and genuine care for animals are truly commendable.

Negative experience: I don't recommend JENNIFER O Rourke!!! She didn't even do an x ray to my rabbit first. She ripped me off for the cost of procedure that wasn't necessary at the stage my rabbit was. If she had done an x ray it would have been clear that it would be better to put the rabbit to sleep right away! Yesterday Filipe Martinho after he saw my rabbit he recommend euthanasia. My rabbit wouldn't suffer if it was than immediately! And I wouldn't spend that much money!

Fantastic experience: I was very anxious about seeing an exotic vet for my Royal Python "Creon" as I had never been to one before. Dr Filipe Martinho was absolutely brilliant. He Couldn't have been more helpful in his health check and came across extremely professional. Very kind and Gentle with a huge amount of Knowledge about all reptiles.I Would highly recommend. Fantastic experience: Our Rabbit was referred here by our regular vet. They did great work, very detailed in the explanation of what was going on. Unfortunately she did get worse over the next couple of days and we had to do the inevitable, but at our own vet. Palmerstown Veterinary Hospital sent us a hand written condolences card for our rabbit. That kind of tells you everything about them now doesn't.

Fantastic experience: Exotic vets are very good with rats. My girls have never had an issue with them, always feels like they're being handled by a friend instead of a vet as they're never stressed :)

Negative experience: Avoid! I have been with these vets for 8 years paying for vaccinations and all other services while my dog was healthy.When he fell unwell they left me wait for 3 days in emergency state. Manager first blamed it all on untrained receptionist, then she blamed it on me that I didn't try hard enough to get the appointment.Last thing that distressed dog owner needs to hear.Quality of veterinary services also not great.Thankfully "O Scannail Vet" and "My Vet Lucan" helped. Never again would I return to PHV. Disorganized, rude and unhelpful during the emergency times .

The vets are highly knowledgeable, professional, and experienced, which gives me complete confidence in their care. What truly sets them apart, though, is their kindness. Everyone at the clinic is warm, patient, and genuinely cares about the well-being of the animals. Fantastic experience: The clinic in Palmerstown is the only one we trust for our 2 cats and our dog. Everyone is friendly and welcoming, in the last 3 years they cared about our pets like if they were their own. I could never trust anyone else, from Fiona who cared about our beloved Chicco, to Kate when she cared about our cats, to George who was with us when Chicco went to his rainbow bridge and to the nurses there on the weekends when we needed long treatments, always welcoming us with a smile. I will never forget the care and the affection they all showed us in the saddest times, when we had to say goodbye to our cat Missy and our dog Chicco, after their long illnesses. Palmerstown Vet Hospital is like a home to me. They are just the best. And Tracey at reception, she is such a sweetheart. Fantastic experience: I brought my guinea pig Pringles in because of an upper respiratory infection. My previous vet cancelled an hour before my appointment. I had called every vet around me and they were the only ones to take him in even though they were very busy. I believe the person who worked on him was named Fiona, they and all the other staff did an amazing job on him and I’m happy to say he is doing amazing. I will be using this vet in the future and I would recommend them to anyone else looking for a vet or looking to switch vets.

Fantastic experience: My goldfish ended up very sick and I didn't know what to do, not many vets treat fish in Ireland. A friend of mine recommended Palmerston Vets to me cause he had an exotic pet. I contacted them straight away and I was told that yes they will treat my goldfish, I was delighted. Alot of pet shops were telling me to euthanize my goldfish that's there's no hope for him, Julian on the other hand checked him over, gave medications for him and a week later he's like a new goldfish, he's back swimming around in his tank happy as ever. Id like to say thanks so much to all of the staff at Palmerstown vet for being so helpful and taking him in so quickly aswell. Ill definitely be recommending you to family and friends.

Fantastic experience: These vets love animals and really know their stuff and keep you well informed on costs and progress and prognosis. I have dogs and hens, they've been a life saver a few times now and are very quick to get you in if there's an emergency. They genuinely all love animals, the receptionists, doctors and nurses.

The vet's give very good advice and the best knowledge they can to help with my dog couldn't recommend these enough very clean facilities and as animals seem at ease in it

Negative experience: I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the care my pet rabbit received in June 2023. I believe the veterinary procedures followed were below standard, particularly due to the absence of necessary blood tests. My rabbit showed signs of infection, yet no blood tests were conducted to investigate underlying health issues. Afterward, she underwent two consecutive procedures to address a swollen eye. Unfortunately, her condition worsened, leading to increased swelling on the right side of her head. I specifically questioned whether these procedures would enable her to close her eye, and I was told, “it might.” Despite being prescribed antibiotics and eye drops intended to lubricate her eye, her condition deteriorated, and she ultimately lost sight in that eye. The timing of these two procedures was concerning, and I had trusted the expertise of the so-called exotic specialists. However, after seeing no improvement, I sought a second opinion from another vet, as I was extremely disappointed with the care provided. At a vulnerable time, I relied on the veterinary team's judgment. Tragically, my rabbit passed away weeks later, and I find myself questioning whether timely blood tests might have altered the course of her health. If I had sought a second opinion sooner, she might still be with me.

Negative experience: Brought animal in for 1 thing but charged more for stuff that we didn’t ask for. Vets need to inform clients before adding charges especially in this day and age. Definitely wouldn’t recommend them.

Fantastic experience: I had another vet I went to and it was not the best experience overall, and until I came to Palmerstown Vet Clinic. The staff are very kind and considerate. They try to help as much as they can such as follow up phone calls and if need anything, you can give them a phone call and get things done quite quickly. We did have some issues such as costs, medications and other necessities and they have the compassionate, and willing to work around the problems we have. I would recommend to anyone who would like to try out this Veterinary Clinic as they have maintain standards every-time. Great Staff, Great Standards and overall very good.

Fantastic experience: Had to bring bailey here as she was unwell. The call was answered promptly, got an appointment for two hours later. Was seen promptly by Vet, diagnosed UTI and had fun trying to get a urine sample! An excellent professional practice that I would heartily recommend.

Fantastic experience: Outstanding care. I brought my pet snake Bubbles in last week. It was an emergency and the receptionist on the phone was able to recognise this and get me an appointment that day. Unfortunately, Bubbles had to be euthanized. The team at Palmerstown Veterinary Hospital treated Bubbles and I with respect, decorum, and an extremely high level of care. Fiona was my vet, She was straightforward and direct, detailing what was wrong and laying out my options in a very caring manner. I was allowed to wait away from other patients as it was an upsetting time, and even payment was sorted without having to go to the counter. I've also just received a letter of condolence from them, which was above and beyond anything I could have expected Can not rate them enough!

The doctors went above and beyond to make him and us comfortable, and he left the clinic happy. Fantastic experience: What I like most about Palmerstown Vet Hospital are the kindness empathy support and professionalism that all staff have given me over the years. The small touches such as a lit candle to remind clients in the reception area that an animal either had passed away or had come to the end of it's life in doing so, maintaining a quiet atmosphere marking the sadness of owners dealing with a loss. Always friendly and polite both at the reception desk and the vets themselves really having a genuine interest and care for whatever animal they are attending to with such a variety that cross their doors from reptiles to exotic birds to cats dogs and unusual pets - each vet in their own expertise can attend to each family pet and have always left me feeling reassured the very best is done for my family of cats and exotic birds. Highly recommend Palmerstown Vet Hospital to anyone seeking their services.
