Fantastic experience: I just want to take a moment to thank Castle Veterinary Clinic. After moving to Ireland from South Africa with my two fur babies, they’ve been incredible from day one — even going out of their way to get my cat’s full medical history from our vet back home as she was born with only one kidney so had special needs. When it came time to say goodbye after 11 years, they showed so much compassion and care, giving us the time and support we needed. The thoughtful items they sent afterwards meant more than they know. I’ll always be grateful and couldn’t recommend them more highly.

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank Castle Vets enough for the incredible care they gave to my beloved Milo over the years. For the past nine years, they have always looked after him so well, even though he wasn’t always the easiest patient! I am forever grateful for everything they did for him, especially during his final week. The team worked tirelessly to get to the bottom of what was going on and, although we couldn’t save him, I truly believe they did absolutely everything they could. The compassion and understanding shown by everyone at Castle during such a difficult time meant so much to us. After Milo’s passing, we were deeply touched to receive a beautiful card, along with vials of his hair, his paw prints, and some forget-me-not seeds. This thoughtful gesture left us completely moved. Castle Vets have been amazing throughout Milo’s life, and I will always appreciate the kindness, professionalism, and care they gave him from start to finish, thanks again guys

Negative experience: They never waited the recommended 2 weeks before administering the 2nd dose for the annual vaccination which resulted in the death of our cat which raises serious concerns in terms of how many other people lost a pet because the vet never followed the drug manufacturers guidelines. By administering another dose of the vaccine within a 9 day period on the instructions of the vet, this created a toxic build up which caused kidney failure to a previously healthy cat. Our cat was in perfect health prior to this. I'd stay well away from this shack of an establishment if you value your pet. Unfortunately what you see if often what you get and judging by the inside and outside of the premises, this place is dirtier than a stable. The people and pets of Clondalkin deserve better than this. Life is too short to take chances when it comes to proper health care even for pets. Walk into the reception in My Vets in Lucan and judge the difference in cleanliness for yourself. I would highly recommend My Vets in Lucan for a high quality professional 5 star service.

Negative experience: So dissapointed..as a long time cliant..my lurcher took very bad last fri..i called castle vets sat morning..to require a call out to put him to sleep..but was told they dont do call outs..so i asked could for an appointment ..but was told they close early ..and can't fit him inn ..i said he is suffering badly but was told to phone arond try find another vet..thank god for my vets lucan..who thankfully put him out of his missery..this wouldn't happen when manus was in charge..

Fantastic experience: As always having a multi cat house hold and breeding cats castle vets are always there for me. Prime example I needed meds for one of my cats last minute and Sonja and Michaela went above and beyond for me sorting it with my vet. Nothing is an issue. This is entire practice has been a huge support for me. I’d be lost without them. The genuine care for people and pets is outstanding in this practice. Five stars as always from me. Thank you guys.

Fantastic experience: I was unahppy at my last vets and a friend recommended Castle Vets. From the minute I walked in, I was so impressed and could feel the care and love everyone has for animals. My dog Billy was unwell and Amy and the other vets did all they could and I felt like I was really being listened to. He unfortunately didnt get any better and the decison was made to put him asleep. Micaela brought myself, my partner and Billy into a room and comforted us so well, it really helped me! Amy was also excellent explaining exactly what would happen and put my mind at ease. We were given the time we need to say goodbye to our boy and I left being comforted by the fact that the team would take good care of him. I haven't had to take my other dog to see them but I know when I do she will be well looked after! Thank you!

Negative experience: 7 year old lab got sick. couldn’t move. had to carry her in and out to the vets. vets said kidneys and gave her small dialysis for 2 hours and sent home told if no change come back in morning. had to bring her to MyVet in Lucan who said it was her kidneys but not that bad and it was actually pancreas and if brought in earlier they could have done something. the dog didn’t make it through the night. my vets gave it morphine and it may as well have been a paracetamol she was in that much pain. and had the audacity to still charge near 300. you done the same results as MyVets but they cared enough to look at more

Fantastic experience: We have been so happy with the service, friendliness, and veterinary services. We got a 7 year old rescue cat from the DSPCA. The vet has provided prescription food to solve a dodgy stomach, removed teeth ujfer general anaesthetic for dental issues. They also helped with a wheeze due to sleeping in the insulation! The cat could not be in better form now and is so content. A big part of that is the medical attention and care from the staff at Castle Vets.

Negative experience: I could not recommend Castle Veterinary Clinic. I was paying monthly Pet Care Plan for almost three years but when we had an emergency with our dog, they refused to help us despite it still being normal working hours and suggest using different veterinary clinic. I was so disappointed. Never gonna comeback again.

Fantastic experience: I would just like to thank Conor and Grace for their professionalism, I went here with my little companion of 14 years Bentley and was told he was at end of life, I absolutely refused to believe this and was very much in denial, two weeks later Bentley took a fit and I had to bring him for an amergency appointment during the night to take him out of pain. The staff where extremely sensitive to my emotions and done all they could for my boy. Thanks for keeping my boy as comfortable as you could in his final day's.

Negative experience: I had an incredibly frustrating experience with Castle Vets. The staff consistently provided confusing information, leading to two significant incidents. Firstly, my cat was diagnosed with FLUTD, and instead of a proper explanation, the vet directed me to internet links, leaving me clueless about the condition and its treatment. The prescribed medication lacked essential details, forcing me to search online for usage instructions. Secondly, as I prepared to travel with my three cats, Castle Vets provided incorrect information about obtaining a health certificate. This resulted in missed appointments and unnecessary stress for my cats. Despite months of notice about our travel plans, the clinic struggled to guide us through the process, leading to wasted time and money. The final straw was the unprofessional handling of paperwork, with staff members discarding their work and refusing to take responsibility. In summary, if you require accurate information, efficient service, and genuine care for your pets, I strongly advise against choosing Castle Vets.

Called Castle Veterinary Clinic and spoke with Stephen They could not have been more helpful and even refused a donation to cover any costs . Positive experience: Vet was really nice and she did everything we asked for. However the waiting room doesn't exist, there's no chairs, and the whole reception area looks kinda filthy. They are not very cheap and I hope they will invest in some chairs. E: went again! There's one chair, so they improved!

I've been going here 37 years and could not recommend Castle Vet highly enough. Even though I don't live in the area anymore I still travel here because the knowledge and care is second to none.

Negative experience: I called to Ask advice about the procedure of having my 15 year old springer spaniel put to sleep as she is in very I’ll health and I wanted to book her in to be put to sleep as any pet lover can imagine I was heart broken having to make the phone call when the phone was answered and I explained my situation I was met with a horrible attitude and absolutely no compassion by the so called lady on the phone she spoke to me like I was dirt ! Told me take the dog to the vet that has been treating her the last 15 years when I tried to explain I did live in the area of my old vet and was looking for some were closer to home so the dog didn’t have to travel to far as she is in a lot of discomfort when in the car she scoffed and put me on hold so I just hung up the phone Horrible person to deal with very unprofessional !!!!!

Positive experience: Dealt with these for years and never had an issue. Original staff are truly great people who apply a lot of common sense and I really enjoyed dealing with them. However... I went very recently to get tablets for my dog and was met with terrible attitude by an older woman (staff member) who I've never met down there before. I was intentionally there on a Thursday when the shop wasn't busy.. It was literally empty, but I was still reprimanded for not "ordering" in the tablets. I was only then told by this woman that I had to order in the tablets before I go to collect them which I never got asked to do previously in over 20 visits, but whatever. As my dog is in pain I arrived back the following day to collect said tablets and the shop was understandably out the door...while I'm in the queue a man ahead of me says he is there to collect tablets and the same old woman instantly gives him the tablets over the counter without sending him away like she did to me that day before, keeping in mind that they are far busier than the day before. I was blown away. Total double standards. To make matter worse she, clearly notices me from the day before so she feels compelled to say to him "you're lucky I'm feeling generous today". So....essentially my dogs suffered through the night without painkillers for her condition (DM) because this old lady wasn't feeling generous enough to go into the other room and get my dogs tablets when I arrived in the day previous. That's not caring for peoples pets.

We saw Adam on Monday to get a diagnosis and we brought her back down again this evening. Such a lovely Man. He gave fantastic care and had great empathy for Sally and ourselves. We met a lot of other staff this evening too and everyone was so lovely and kind. I would highly recommend Castle Vets. Very very professional.
